I have saltwater fish and coral for sale and will be expanding on freshwater livestock and aquatic plants. We also carry exotic and predatory plants. Our goal is to set up and/or maintain aquariums for people at an affordable price. We want people to have something that they can be proud of as well as to take the hassle out of having to worry about the health of their animals.

Tips for potential power outages!

Always make sure to have good working air bubblers and plenty of batteries on hand. Check that your heaters and temperature controllers are working correctly and have no cracks/compromised cords etc. The adhesive backed body (hand) warmers work well to trap heat in the tank from the outside panes of your aquarium. And as crazy as it may sound, cooking grade or Pyrex glass containers. Not only can you heat them, but if they have good sealing lids you can heat the water and submerge them in your tank to try and temporarily regulate tank temperatures. (I actually had one customer who would heat the tank water in his Pyrex bowl with a candle and it saved all 4 of his clownfish)

And just to try and relieve the stress and worry do yourself a favor and undo all canisters on your RODI unit and empty them. The membrane canisters can be tough to get open so one little trick is to just undo the tubing as to relieve pressure as the water will expand, if it has no where to go it will cause a crack or failure.

Remember it's not stupid if it works! Good luck everybody, I don't think this storm will be that harsh but its better to be prepared than to have a complete loss over something that could've easily been prevented with minimal effort.
