Texas Lacy Game Dog Association

Texas Lacy Game Dog Association The TLGDA is the original and official association for the Blue Lacy breed

Lacys were developed in the Texas Hill Country by the four Lacy brothers (Frank, George, Ewin, and Harry), who immigrated from Kentucky to Burnet County, Texas, in 1858. Traditional wisdom, as well as Lacy family history, holds that Lacys are the result of Greyhound/scent hound/coyote cross

Hello Texas Lacy Game Dog Association (TLGDA) Community,

I apologize for the delay in the post. This past meeting the Officers and BOD voted to offer three scholarships in the amounts of $1000.00, $500.00, and $250.00 again this year. Entries for the scholarships will run through September 15, 2023. The requirement for the scholarship is a minimum two-page essay on "Hunting Conservation" or "What you do with your Lacy dog" and written in APA format. You must be a member of the Texas Lacy Game Dog Association or be sponsored by a current member and must be enrolled in a college or trade school for the fall semester 2023. The scholarship will be paid to the school for distribution. All essays should be sent to [email protected]. You cannot win the scholarship two years consecutively. Even though we are getting a late start on the contest, the money will be sent for use this semester. The school distributes the funds for enrollment and attendance verification, but the funds can be used for anything school related. In other words, the money is not tied to classes, books, etc.

The number of, and amounts given, are subject to change annually. We were able to do more this year through the extremely hard work of volunteers putting on our events, careful budgeting, and very generous bidding and donations on the part of the attendees at our events.

As always, thank you for your continued support of the Lacy Breed and The Texas Lacy Game Dog Association.

Sincerely,

Todd Porter - President
