Join Footbridge Foundation for a virtual charity yoga class with Taylor Brock on Tuesday, August 24, 6:00 pm CDT!

We met Taylor Brock a few months ago when we helped her find a home for a stray pup. Now, she's fostering one of our puppies, Charlie, an adorable lab mix.(https://bit.ly/charliepuppy).

Now, newly certified as a yoga instructor, Taylor would like to give back by offering a virtual charity yoga class that benefits Footbridge Foundation. This online class will be hosted, via Zoom, by Taylor and her graduating teacher training group.

AN ACT TO BECOME LAW! - Texas House Bill 1071 - Relating to the presence of a qualified facility dog or qualified therapy dog in certain court proceedings. - Was Signed By Gov. Abbott - The Bill Will Take Effect 9/1/2021.

This is the GREATEST Friday News we could have hoped for! While we are sure there will be challenges ahead with implementation (as with all new laws) on Sept 1st witnesses of abuse will be able to have the additional support of strength that a qualified therapy or facility dog can provide. We are overcome with emotion!

Absolutely huge THANKS to Pet Partners Sharon & Team Sophie for their amazing work. This was their baby and they have been working on it for a year.

And special Thanks to all of you who answered Bellin Bellin's call for action and reached out to the Texas Legislature when the Bill was in danger. Hundreds of emails were sent and phone calls made.

Laws are made by those who stand up! You stood up and a Law was made! Because of YOU, the world is a little brighter today!

This is almost exactly how I got my cat, Mackie, except it was after hours on a Friday, so I was on my own, so I hooked an Easter basket to a push broom and lowered it down the manhole. Little Mackie hopped right in as though she knew what was going on (completely ignoring the treats), patiently waited for her little elevator ride to the top, and then promptly started talking smack once I carried her across the street to my apartment, and she ruled the school after that.

Surgeries are done at SAn Antonio Humane Society(Fredericksburg clinic)and Brooks Clinic. Those 2 places charge a $10 deposit w your credit card upon making Appt online but $10 is refunded as long as you show up to Appt.

Calendar to schedule appts are put out on the 25th of each month for the FOLLOWING month and they book FAST! Dogs/cats are required to have updated shot record and you’ll need a current bill in your name in past 30 days to show proof of zip/residency.

If you cannot get into SAHS or Brooks clinic, there’s also ADL (Animal Defense League) but they charge $25 non refundable fee (still low cost) and SNIPSA for $75. SNAP is also $75. All are still great choices and low cost. Considering regular prices start at $75 and go up according to weight to $300. These places too will require bill and shot record.
