Our office greeter “Georgia” would like to remind everyone we will be open for guests from 9-3 today(Family day), Saturday and Sunday. Come visit our equestrian center, bring apples/carrots! Our animals love to see your friendly faces!

Last week our manager Dee had her 4 year anniversary with JBSA’s Equestrian center. But she’s known the facility for many years and boarded her horses here when her husband was active duty. After her hubby served almost 21 years in the U.S. Army, they’ve made San Antonio home. Dee enjoys working with the horses but her passion is giving our service members and their families a relaxing atmosphere with her amazing coworkers which include horses, mules, a pot belly pig, and an office cat and bunny!

Sneak peek of the newest addition to our herd. She was rescued by some kind folks - once called Beauty, then called Grace - however we already have a “Grace.” So during our pre purchase exam the vet tech said “that reminds me of the movie Miss Congeniality,” so we chose “Jenny” for short / her barn name.
Stop by and say hello the next time you’re at the Equestrian Center - let’s all give Jenny a warm welcome!🤗

Summer camp came to an end - but not without making new friends, learning new skills, and having some fun with staff, volunteers and our facility residents (horses, bunny, cat and pig). Thank you to all the parents for bringing your kiddos to spend time with all of us at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Equestrian Center ☺️

The campers got to do a carriage ride with our mule, Roany, before lunch.
After lunch they played games on foot, painted Grace, then bathe Grace and Chessy.🎨😶‍🌫️

Session 5 of summer camp has begun - we have 4 boys and 4 girls this week! Looking forward to riding, games, learning and fun here at the Equestrian Center 🐴

The kiddos got to pick their favorite horse of the week to ride as well as their favorite games throughout the week to play again.
We ended the day with painting “Grace”, giving her a bath, playing a water game, and hanging out with “Petunia”🐷🐴

Summer camp session 4 is underway! Our horses were more than ready to get back to work after their 4th of July vacation. More fun to come!
