Board and train dog Birdie went home this weekend, and owner Dana reports she is doing well!

“My dog Birdie spent three weeks with Gabi, focusing on socialization and working on her leash reactivity issues. Throughout the entire program, Gabi provided constant updates and photos, which reassured me that Birdie was in great hands. It felt like she was with a trusted friend the whole time. I especially appreciated the home environment where Birdie received personalized care and attention.

Birdie has struggles with settling (in the house and otherwise), especially around other animals! She is with us for a three week board and train, where we are working on reducing her dog reactivity and regulating her arousal both in and out of the home. Birdie does have a high prey drive, and has never lived with a cat before, so she has been quite distracted by him!

One of the skills she is learning is how to settle in a mat, and to dismiss distractions like a cat. This particular cat, Legolas, loves dogs, and really takes his job seriously. Birdie got some great practice as he slowly moved closer and closer to her, and she was able to disengage from the cat and focus on her handler! Legolas definitely wanted a treat for his hard work, so by the end of the session, he was able to sit right next to her where they took turns getting their treats. Good job Birdie!
