🐉 It's that time of the year, rattlesnakes will be out and about.
The rattlesnake vaccine helps dogs develop immunity to rattlesnake venom, which can reduce the severity of a bite.
The vaccine stimulates a dog to create his own antibodies to rattlesnake venom that will protect him from bites that happen in the future.
Dogs over 100 lbs or under 25 lbs may benefit from a three dose initial series. It is best to give vaccination boosters about 30 days before the beginning of exposure to rattlesnakes. Protection peaks about 30 to 45 days after boosters and lasts about six months.
Make sure you are consistent after the initial shots.
If your dog has had the vaccine but gets bitten, they should still see a veterinarian right away.
Bring your pet in to get their vaccine.
