We had a very special girl that is AVAILABLE for ADOPTION in for a Spa day with Avery!
Gertie a 2 year old Shepard mix that is an absolute LOVE BUG. As in…she made out with everyone at the shop! Besides being a great kisser, Gertie gets along with other dogs, loves to play, and is currently housed with a cat, that she is curious about. Gertie’s foster mom reports that she would be better with older Children as she’s still teaching Gertie off, from jumping. Other than that, Gertie is a gem looking for her forever family.
Gertie was part of the Plea For Fosters in the Orange County Register that came from The Irvine Hangar Fire, where the dogs at Orange County Shelter were in immediate need of evacuation because of the air quality.
Potential Volunteers: There are still HUNDREDS of wonderful dogs in peril, that have not seen daylight or been on a proper potty or outdoor walk since the Hangar fire occurred. These walks are monumental and the he basic foundation in keeping dogs positively emotionally stimulated and overcoming kennel stress.
Gertie is being fostered locally if you’d like to meet her. ❤️

Kenzie, Danielle and Taryn were able to do a few rescue makeovers this week! These little guys are all available for adoption! Nine years ago this beautiful boy came into OUR lives, he didn’t belong to any of us, he was a new client, but he became OURS. Every ONE of us, Elke, Devanna, Danielle, Nessie, Jackie and I all took care of him on a continuous weekly basis for the last 9 years. He would run through the door every single week and smile his big toothy grin at us, wagging his tail, and pick out and pile up toys to play with, and then kennel himself. He was the absolute best behaved boy anyone could ever ask for. He even knew our names, if we asked him where his Elke was, he would smile and run to her.
He was our poster child, and so many people would come in and ask for their dogs to be styled like him. He was the iconic doodle.
He knew my voice if I was outside of work, and was always excited to see me. His parents became like family as they and I are both lovers of classic cars and all things dogs and we would run into eachother at local events.
A couple months ago he wasn’t feeling well and George and Darlene took him to the vet and found out that he had an internal cancer, there were no signs ever, and no visible masses, until that one day. For the last months we have coddled and researched every holistic therapy to keep him alive, but he has finally crossed the rainbow bridge.
Bo-Bo I hope you are with my Rocky, and all of our other sweet, beloved dog clients that we love so much, and that we hold close to our hearts. And I hope you are devouring an endless supply of IN N OUT cheeseburgers, your favorite.
Just because a dog is a client, never means that we don’t love them like our own, won’t miss them, or be abosoulty devastated as I am. This one has been especially hard.

Meet Andy! Andy is Available for adoption through Promise 4 Paws rescue. Andy’s foster mom had to cut the matted hair away from his eyes and legs so he could see and walk. Andy warms up very quickly and is a total cuddle bug kissy face when he trusts you!
Phase 2 of Andy’s makeover was done by myself, I removed the rest of the matts around his feet, pulled out fox tails stuck underneath the matting, and shaved him to one length so he can grow back fluffy and even cuter! Andy’s personality outshines his shave, and I think he’s going to make some lucky person extremely happy ❤️

This ol’ ADORABLE Grandpa Dog came in just for a nail clip yesterday. I BET you can’t name what this beautiful breed is?! Danielle was the closest of our guessers knowing it was a type of Spignone. But even I FAILED the guess on this one😂. “Rigatoni” as he has been perfectly named is a Bracco Italiano. Also known as an Italian Pointer, and one of the oldest pointing breeds in existence. Can we bring this breed back please? This gorgeous dog is as low maintenance and majestic as they come!

Thankyou to the Pet Project Foundation and absolutely everyone who took time to comment, followed our page and showed so much love for this article that I was interviewed for. Hobie was the stray doodle from the San Clemente animal shelter that I had shared my experience grooming him about on Facebook.
This article was published in The Dana Point Times on Tuesday. There was also one published in the SC times the day before, but I didn’t share it because of a few lines were taken out of context. Thank-you to the author for correcting those! I hope together we can bring awareness to our and surrounding communities homeless animal crisis and work together as advocates in any way we can to help curb it!

Meet Molli! This gorgeous Doodle puppy received her first haircut from Kenzie today. Kudos to this pups mama for doing a great job keeping her body brushed out. Did you know a Doodle requires daily thorough brushing AND combing at least once a day depending on its coat length? We are always here for you for at home grooming advice in between grooming visits so that together, we can help make your Doodle as fabulous looking as you envisioned when it leaves us, but also remember WE are a team, and we can only humanely do so much with what you give us.

Here’s a breed you rarely see, and she is the absolute sweetest! Meet Emmie the Norwegian Elkhound. Years ago when I started grooming the Elkhound , along with it’s cousin the Keeshound, they were super popular; their sweet dispositions and fluffy teddy bear puppy look made this an easy go to for families. Now that the Doodle Frenzy craze has taken over you don’t see a whole lot of these guys running around, in fact they might be considered a rare breed! With the exception of my sister in law who also owns one(smart lady) this is our only time that we get to see these awesome dogs! Cheers to the Elkhound!

We get clients from all walks of life, and we actually got this adorable Frenchie Oreo, when it’s owner came to do a Mobil Windshield Repair at the shop. It was meant to be! If anyone needs a chip or windshield replacement I highly recommend , for great sevice and quality work! Maybe if your lucky you just might get to meet Oreo too!

Big Thankyou to the client who brought in the case of dog food as a donation, we had 2 rescue pups in from leashes of love and were able to send it home with the foster, the exact day you brought it in when they picked them up! Acacia and Tan who are AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION through Leashes of Love Rescue, Inc. came in for a little spa day yesterday❤️ Acacia recently mothered a litter of puppies who have been adopted and she was so excited to get out and have a day all to herself! She cuddled up with Avery and had so much love to give! Tan is a quiet senior who is a little shy but warms up once he gets to know you. Acacia is not shy at all, she is a kissing monster😂

It was the perfect day at The Outlets to drink beer for a good cause! Thank-you to everyone who came down to Barks and Brews to support and the San Clemente/Dana Point Animal Shelter! Lauren and I had so much fun meeting so many amazing new and old pup friends and giving away our Bow Wow Swag. Congrats to Hurley C. The Golden Retriever one of 2 of the lucky winners of a $75 grooming gift certificate! In all, there was $250 in grooming gift certificates that were spun and won!

Happy National Dog Day from our little Doggie to yours; Adopted many years ago at the Costa Mesa Pet Expo, this little fireball had gone through multiple homes until she met us and joined our family that included our old Pit bull Sid, and our other Bull Terrier Rocky. She has outlived her sweet brothers and became the Matriarch of the house. She’s never met a ball she didn’t love or an Electric Drill she didn’t want to murder😂. She keeps our house fairly rodent free, even if it means “reorganizing” the outdoor Furniture. She’s not perfect, but we have a lot of patience and she’s ours❤️ Thank you to her God parents for loving her as much as we do, and helping us make her the best version of herself❤️

Gertie came to us from yesterday for a quick bath. She appears to be on the younger side, and looks like a dachshund/Cavalier mix. You can really see the Cavi in her sweet, quiet disposition. As you can see from her at Foster home pics, her perosnality really comes out when she’s settled. She is under 20 lbs nd has healthy ears and a healthy coat! When you baby Talk to Whiskey the Hound Dog, he breaks into the most ridiculous tail wagging grin. Not a mean bone in this ridiculous dogs body. Thank you for letting us make you so happy sweet boy❤️
