We’ve been excitedly waiting for this weekend, and not just for the game!!! 🏈

We’ve been keeping a secret and we are so thrilled to finally be able to share .

Everyone, meet Leto! He’s a hopeful future mini stud for our program. He is the first miniature goldendoodle we have added to our program, and we are very excited for his future with . Both of his parents have OFAs, great structure and amazing temperament! Plus he was raised the same way we raise our pups using the method and curriculum. Thank you for trusting us with him. He is so smart and confident. We are over the moon excited about him!

Soulmates 💞

Sometimes in life two dogs meet and the rest is history. The day we brought Waffles home to meet Mochi was that day for these two. Their love and devotion to one another is so special.

From our growing family to yours we hope you had a happy and healthy holiday season! We are so thankful to all of you, for your love and continued support as we navigate raising the twins. Through cutting their first teeth to catching the flu these little stinkers just keep on smiling. 😊

We are so excited for this upcoming year and have lots of exciting things happening with our program that we can’t wait to share with you soon!

Our guardian males will live exclusively with their guardian families with the exception of mating (breeding) and health testing. He will stay in our program as a hopeful future stud. When his breed career is over he will then be neutered. Once he is neutered he is officially retired and will live the rest of his life with the guardian family!

Our guardian dogs will live exclusively with their guardian families with the exception of times of mating, whelp (delivery) and raising of puppies. That will happen at my home in our puppy nursery. The entire process will be 7-9 weeks per year for females, and 1-2 weeks for males . Once a dogs breeding time is over they will then be spayed/neutered at my expense. Once they are fixed they are officially retired and will live the rest of their life with the guardian family!

When a puppy is born, they are not ours. We have 8-12 weeks to get them ready for you. We devote our time, energy, knowledge and our hearts to ensure they are the best they can be before they go home to their forever humans.

One month ago we celebrated, while 13 puppy families celebrated as well!! On March 24th we welcomed a new type of litter into the world. Our twin boys were born on the one year anniversary of the birth of our first official litter as Port City Doodles, our Bakers Dozen litter of 13. Mama Waffles and I now share more than just a normal bond, we brought life to the world on the same day. We hope our 13 puppies had so much fun celebrating their birthdays with their families, while we soaked in the newborn hours with our new little ones.

It’s been a crazy month navigating our new normal as a family of 6, but we feel so lucky and filled with love.

Perfect little shark toofers!

Puppy teeth, also known as deciduous teeth or milk teeth, begin to emerge in puppies when they are around 3 to 4 weeks old. The process of puppy teething continues over several weeks, and their baby teeth start falling out to make room for the permanent teeth. Generally, the timeline for puppy tooth loss is as follows:

- Around 3 to 4 weeks: Puppy teeth start to emerge.
- Around 4 to 6 weeks: Incisors, the small front teeth, begin to appear.
- Around 3 to 4 months: Canine teeth (fangs) and premolars start to come in.
- Around 4 to 6 months: Puppy teeth gradually start to fall out, making way for the permanent teeth.
- Around 6 to 8 months: Most puppies will have their permanent teeth fully grown in.

It's important to note that these timelines are approximate, and there can be some variation among individual puppies.

Ok confess, did you keep your puppy’s teeth when they fell out (if you found them?). Many times they are swallowed. 😬🤣❤️

This is the second dog in the last two weeks that we’ve had come in to our hospital with this type of bone stuck around it’s mandible. Separate companies but the EXACT same design.

Please do NOT buy this type of bone for your pup! It’s not worth the risk. Luckily for this patient, our technician was able to wiggle it free but our previous patient was under general anesthesia for nearly a half hour while we went through every tool in our arsenal to saw through both sides of the bone safely.
Both dogs are lucky that they did not end up with lacerations or broken teeth.

Throwback Thursday Post!

This is the tiniest puppy we’ve ever had. Little Miss Cupcake (pink collar) now known as Miss Daisy Mae. She was our little runt of the Bakers Dozen litter, and we took lots of extra care making sure she grew big and strong and didn’t fall behind her litter mates. She quickly became the kids favorite as she was so used to one on one snuggles and extra handling.

She was our little bucket baby. This was the food container connected to the puppy pen and after every other pup had finished their food and settled on the floor to nap, she would climb in and curl up every day in her little bucket bed. No one else could fit in there. It was her special little spot.

It has been such a joy watching each of our pups grow up and we will always remember the cute little things about them while they were with us.

And just like that our final puppy of the year is off to Nevada to live her best life with her new forever family.

We are so honored to have been able to match so many amazing families with their furry family members this last year. 24 to be exact 😍🥰

This marks the official beginning of a year off for us as we embark on our next journey this year of raising twins that are due in June.

Don’t worry Port City Doodles isn’t going anywhere. We are looking forward to restarting our breeding program in winter or next spring. We have so much to look forward to with new human babies and new up and coming mamas to our program!
