8 weeks…..8 WEEKS!!!! How did it go by so freaking fast! This has probably been my quietest, easiest litter to date. Cypher was an amazing mother, and continues to interact with and guide her puppies to this day.

These puppies have always been eager to investigate something new, plunge ahead to a new activity, and rarely showed more than a momentary startle to something they were unsure of.

One of the biggest wins was how clean they kept the puppy pen. Using litter trays with puppy pads under a plastic grate, they were hitting it about 95% by week 7. By week 5, when they started spending more time outside, they were often waiting to p*e until we took them out in the morning. Eventually, they all started to use one area for toileting. 😁

So now, 2 puppies have gone to their new homes. Their families were soooo excited! One blue merle boy will be leaving this week.

The black tri puppies are still available. Monica, Phoebe and Joey are remarkable pups. They are confident, brave, and very eager to learn new things. They will make excellent performance/obedience/rally partners. Contact me here or through my website for more information. Not sure how to get started in dog activities? No problem! I will help!!

These 4 weeks have absolutely flown by! This has been an amazing litter to raise. Cypher's puppies are such a delight.

At this point, we added the extension to the whelping box, giving them an extra room. Cypher still likes to spend time with the puppies. If she's not in the pen with them, she's usually laying right outside. Still very attentive and really takes care of her pups.

We have also added our potty trays. After trial and error with several different setups, over decided this is my favorite. A plastic grate with a puppy pad inside. I find it much neater overall, with less mess in the pen. You can see the puppies are definitely using it, and they get pretty close even if they miss! Their bedding has been consistently dry for several days now.

They have also graduated to eating regular food, starting with goat's milk on a plate. They are so polite and careful when they eat, which makes clean up so much faster.

This week the puppies will be getting their first bath/groom. We do their nails every 3-5 days with clippers and grinder, and brush them daily.

If you would love to bring one of these puppies into your life, message me here or through my website

I took a road trip with Laura an and a couple of my dogs this past weekend. We drove 12 hours to Bountiful, Utah and met up with Judy for the Australian Shepherd Club of Utah's Heat Wave show.

I really had a good time, learned some things I need to work on with the dogs, and was able to get a few photos of Bullet and his sibling/half siblings. This was also my first time showing Valkyrie in an indoor ring, and I see things to work on with her. She did ok, even though she was a bit uncomfortable. We'll work on her confidence and get back into an indoor ring again.

Bullet was expertly handled by an amazing junior, Lennox. He really loves her, and she enjoys him as well. He took 1st in 12-15 month dogs in all but one show, and also made the cut in Winners Dog. Not bad for a young guy like him! Huge thank you to Lennox and Nikki Bogle.

Thanks Sherrie, Canby and the rest of the club for putting on a really fun show. Katelyn Scott Peart and Brittney Johnson for all of your help and support.

Cypher’s puppies are growing! At 11 days old, they weigh between 1.5-2 pounds and a few of them have started to open their eyes. They are toddling around and are the sweetest cuddlers ever! We have been doing ENS daily and they’ve had their nails trimmed twice.

Last night, we set up their sleep nest for the first time. This morning, they were all pretty much on their beds, minus the one sleeping under the rail.

More individual photos later, but enjoy these little living squishmallows for now. 🥰

What's cuter than Aussie larva??? Nothing, at least not today.

These puppies have been simply delightful, and Cypher is an exvellent mother. She stays with her babies about 90% of the time, and just loves to cuddle with them.

At 6 days old, they have gained steadily, the biggest puppies weighing almost a pound and a half already. We have started ENS and we're just enjoying the heck out of them!

“How you doin’?” Well, Cypher is doin’ great! On Sunday morning, we woke up at 7:30 to 3 puppies already born. She whelped the next 3 in about 90 minutes. She has been a stellar mother, and the puppies are incredibly healthy and active!
Please welcome the “Friends” litter, in order of appearance (yes, we’re totally guessing on the first three!)

Rachel-red merle girl
Ross-blue merle boy

Lucy, Maxwell and Tripper are available and ready to make a new family very happy! They have been raised with Puppy Culture, and have the most amazing personalities!

I keep saying how confident they are, but that is always one of my top goals when raising a litter. I want my puppies to be excited to encounter a new "thing", and to enjoy learning with their families. Some may be more active, some a little more thoughtful, and that's what makes them all individual. But overall, I love watching the eagerness as they go off with their new families, ready to make them as happy as they made us.

More than half of the Beatles Litter has gone to their new homes this past weekend. It is sooooo strange and so quiet. I look at the 4 puppies still here and think, "Sometimes, this is a full litter!" 😁 The work is incredibly reduced, but still lots going on.

On the 4th of July, we had a great time habituating to fireworks in the backyard. And I finally got some videos of bath and blow dry time with a few puppies.

We currently have 3 puppies available. I was holding back one, and the other 2 had families that were not able to bring their puppies home at this time.

The available puppies are Maxwell (red tri male), Tripper (black tri male) and Lucy (black tri female).
Contact me here or through my website for more information. These are confident, curious, well-socialized puppies.

If anyone is in San Diego and you're looking for something to do today or tomorrow, I'll be at Bates Nut Farm for the Bahia Sur Kennel Club dog show.

We'll be here today, until around 2:30. Aussies already showed, but we're waiting for PeeWees and BPUP this afternoon.

Tomorrow, Aussies show at 8am, and we're here for BPUP at 12:10.

Enjoy Rivet's debut in the BPUP ring where she won Best of Breed Puppy.

Puppy beds, litter training and eating from a bowl! These puppies are growing so stinking fast!!
But look at how polite they are at feeding time. We have to separate them so they all fit around the bowl.
They are also excelling at using the litter box. Their beds are dry all day and every morning. They actually make it to the box about 50% of the time... I'll take it!!
Coming up, individual bowls and crate training!

We do have a couple of these beauties available! Message me here or on my website

Hello friends!

For anyone local, or just wanting to make a day trip, we will be showing several of our dogs at the Bahia Sur Kennel Club dog show at Bates Nut Farm June 14, 15, and 16th. I will post the times we will be there, and I'd love to meet anyone who is interested in something fun to do with the family.

There is no charge for the show, parking is $10 at the gate. I suspect we will be there for a good part of the day, since we are showing in the 4-6 month puppy class as well as Aussies. When the program schedule is out, I'll post the times we'll be there.

I would really love to meet anyone who wants to come say hi!!

I know, you’re all thinking “Why haven’t we seen any puppy pictures recently? Sheba and Donna are keeping all that fluffy, potato goodness all to themselves!” Well, if YOU had the opportunity to snuggle all these little squish balls everyday, wouldn’t you?

Their ears opened on Thursday, so we have daily music as well as other sounds to acclimate and habituate. They are moving around, so we’ll add a new texture for them to navigate.
Seriously, though, these babies keep me BUSY! We finished ENS this week, but we still weigh everyday. Everyday, we work on one protocol or another to help send home the best puppies we can!

Ok, ok…recent photos from this week! In order:
The girls
Lucy
Molly
Penny
Prudence
Sadie

The boys:
Desmond
JoJo
Jude
Maxwell
Tripper

Most have homes now, but we have a couple of reservations available. Message here or through my website, and keep following!

A photo essay of our latest experience with adding a nest to the whelping box.
The first photo shows the first beds I put in. Sheba was fine with them, didn’t bother them at all.
The second photo, I used a slightly different bed, with higher sides. The next photo is the following morning, Sheba clearly told me she was NOT pleased!
The next photo was another type of bed I had, lower sides, but she still didn’t really settle much with them in the box, unless I stayed with her.
I finally decided to just take the beds and rails out to give her more room, and that seemed to do the trick! I’ll add the beds in for daytime use, and see how it plays out.
A reminder to look at the dog in front of us when implementing any protocols. Sheba has 2 more puppies in this litter than the last. I feel she just needed a little bit more space. 😉
