Would you live in this 350 sq ft, module style tiny home? I know I would. You know who else would, Elon Musk - https://www.autoevolution.com/news/elon-musk-lives-in-a-prefab-tiny-home-that-he-doesnt-even-own-a-boxabl-casita-163877.html. He recently sold off his real estate portfolio and now rents out this tiny home at the SpaceX Homebase in Boca Chica, TX. This guy doesn’t just take his work home with him, he takes his home to work. believes that the genius tiny home, that is also the tiny home of a genius, is quite possibly the future of tiny homes – affordable, customizable, scalable, and built to last generations. And quite possibly the future of our Urban Farm Solution communities.

Today was planting day at “UrbanFarmsOne “🛸 for and friends. $5 worth of seeds will generate 972 stalks of barley in 9 weeks. No fertilizer, pesticides, weeding, pruning or watering - 100% no fuss, 100% organic, 100% healthy delicious food to fuel your body. Your body is your #1 supporter. Let’s give them what the crave, what they deserve, and what will help them continue to support us, no matter what. 💪🏻🧘🏾🏄🏼‍♂️

What you’re seeing in this video is a mini version of our Aquaponic system - these are our patented proprietary systems made special for TheXurge. This system feeds off of a 400 gallon tank with 40 Tilapia plus a 200 gallon tank with 70 crayfish plus 1,200 mosquito fish that live in the grow beds themselves

AND… We are stoked to announce that both SDSU and USD will be installing our modular system at their farms! The systems that they’ll be using are twice this size. SDSU will feature 8 systems and USD will feature 40 systems! 🤯 I can’t begin to express how thankful we are for these institutions. They are true modern day California pioneers, leading the way to a system of agricultural that will mitigate climate change and ease world hunger! HUZZAH!

Liv Boeree I’m jess - ambassador and representative of TheXurge Inc., a new(ish) nonprofit coming out of San Diego. We began w an idea to ease world hunger w the help of an aquaponic grow system we developed. We took that idea and tweaked it a bit - we are developing tiny home communities that will utilize our aquaponic systems to encourage healthy living, mitigate climate change, accelerate affordable housing and produce sustainable food harvests. Enough about us… We want to invite you to be a VIP at our 1st annual celebrity poker tourney and after party on 01/29/22. As a VIP, we will take care of all air travel and stay expenses for 5 days/4 nights in San Diego. I have a little flyer I designed for you with more info on the tourney.

I hope this sounds like something you are interested in - if so, all I need from you is your contact info and press/media kit so the tournament organizers can get in touch with you and finalize all the fine details with you - I mean, who wouldn’t want a free vaca to San Diego in the middle of winter. ☀️🏄‍♀️🧉🩴Seats are filling up - just a few celebs I know of so far are a Navy SEAL, a retired Pro golfer and a WSOP bracelet winner. I am more than happy to answer any questions about the tournament or our organization. I hope to hear back from you soon!! 🌈 ♥️♣️♦️♠️

Check out this video. I am honestly so surprised, in a good way, to see how in tune older generations are with the effects of what we eat, not just on themselves, but the planet as well. There are amazing advances in plant based proteins, detoxification, and how to get healthy molecules into our bodies, we can very realistically move away from the meat-centric diet so many people are used to. Livestock agriculture is one if he main contributors to climate change. C’mon guys, let’s get with dem Boomers!

👋 I’m Jess – the one behind the posts for here on Instagram. I am so grateful to be a part of their journey. Does everyone feel empowered as much as I do about the power of the collective conscious and how acting now can protect our future later? I think a big part of that action is living sustainably. What do you think about our future – is there still time to make impactful changes, or is it too little too late? One thing is for sure, there are countless things one person can do in the name of “sustainability,” whether it’s recycling your trash or living waste free, every little thing makes a difference.
I live near Boston, a country away from the rest of the team at TheXurge. Luckily, we are connected by more than just the internet - we share the same values. I grew up with very little, monetarily speaking, but I have a big imagination. I have an even bigger desire to open my mind and to share ideas and experiences with others. I have been practicing sustainable living to some degree for years now. I DIY almost everything - for myself and for people I know. My goals are to complete every project with as much recycled material as I possibly can. I only purchase what is absolutely necessary, and if there is no other substitute. I build, grow, cook, sew, recycle, up-cycle, fix, repurpose, sell, trade, teach, and learn about what it is I need from the world, and how I can give back. So, I’ve shared about myself, and now I want to know more about everyone out there. What are your values? What do you do to give back, or to give to yourself and/or family? Please share what it is that you do for fun or for life that is sustainable at any level. Leave a message or a picture in the comments below. Like and follow so we can all continue to discuss what drives us and what kind of future we yearn to be part of. ✌🏼❤️😊 💚 #2021

The U.N. is working with governments to grow their tourism industries and increase the benefits of tourism in countries struggling with immense poverty. But it will not be easy. To accommodate tourists, a large amount of money—money that these countries do not have—will need to be spent on building and maintaining hotels, airports and other tourist amenities.
African countries have benefited greatly from the United Nations’ assistance with their tourism industries.Today, Africa’s tourism industries support more than 21 million jobs and have aided the alleviation of global poverty through sustainable development in struggling countries. The sustainable development seen in Africa relies on tourists making ethical travel choices. Tourists are encouraged to “go local” with food, craft purchases and tour companies when traveling in developing countries. So what could happen if struggling nations across the world took Africa’s example when growing their tourism industry - they focused on eco-tourism and sustainable development What are some examples of sustainable, eco-friendly tourist activities, places to go, classes to take, places to stay and shop, etc. etc..? What can be done to make sure the success of this new wave tourism continues to be successful and bring in dollars for the local communities?? Please leave your ideas, comments, and questions in the comments section below. We want to know what you think about eco-tourism, have you ever been somewhere like that? What did you do? What did you like the most? What could be done differently? We love your thoughts and want to hear from you. So please drop a comment.

The U.N. Goals for Sustainable Development are the next step after the success of the Millennium Development Goals. The program proved to be the “most successful anti-poverty movement in history” due to its worldwide support. The world saw a 56% decline in extreme poverty in the years between 1990 and 2015. 193 nations agreed to adopt the Sustainable Development Goals. The Sustainable Development Goals are set to achieve the goals that lacked completion by the Millenium Development Goals. Get on board and show your support. Together we can change the world. 💚 #2021

City governments can work in direct collaboration with its citizens and with nonprofits, like TheXurge, to set up a network of aquaponic raft systems throughout the city. This will not only increase food production, it will ensure everyone in the city will have access to healthy produce and protein. Installing the food rafts across the city will also create jobs and increase financial stability for many. The food produced using the food rafts is healthier and more economical for cities than food from farms miles and miles away – there are no pesticides or antibiotics used on the food, there are no issues of food waste due to poor storage facilities, bad refrigeration, and unaccountable transportation. The food raft itself produces minimal waste in the form of fish excrement and food discards, all of which can be recycled into fertilizer, compost, and new plant growth. On top of that, the system requires no soil, very little water, and minimal power. Considering all of this, the raft system is an emission-free sustainable food production system. Put these up all over the city as the #1 source of food for that city and imagine the positive impact there will be on the environment.

Duhdadaaa… Here again, . Did you know that our food system and network were designed with individuals and small communities in mind. We want to help train a new generation of farmers. One thing we will be doing is working directly with colleges and universities around the world. The agriculture and biology students will receive our food raft and have our network at their fingertips as they learn to use the system and grow the food. Anything and everything grown by the students will be donated to local food banks. The students will learn how economical the food raft system can be for small communities - it requires very little water, power, man-hours of heavy labor, and leaves virtually no footprint. With the ability to control the climate growers can grow a large variety of crops at a much quicker rate, non-stop all year. The students will be taught the importance of seed collection and encouraged to connect with other growers and buyers on the network to buy/sell and trade seeds, thus encouraging plant and variation and variety in their diet. They will be taught different methods of recycling waste and discards. Everything the students learn they will bring home with them to their communities – proof to the community that using smaller, aquaponic farming systems can improve food security, is better for the health and wellness of the community, improves education, provides a new online network of supporters, and can secure better financial situations for many. With improved hope and health, communities will start to share new ideas and practices with others across the world. What are your thoughts? Can working on a smaller scale work out in the end? Make sure to like and follow and leave your thoughts in the comments below ✌🏼❤️ 💚 #2021

02/13/2021

Food waste is a key contributor to world hunger – 1.3B tons of food waste is produced each year, enough to feed more than 2B people (3 – 4 X the amount of hungry people). A major portion of the food waste happens during production and distribution due to poor storage and cooling facilities, lack of infrastructure, poor transportation equipment and lack of technology. If we continue using these same systems than there is no way we are going to feed the population in the days to come. Suffice it to say, something major needs to be done about food waste, at both the global and local level. The food system we developed gives communities the tools and education they need to make long term differences – creating a more sustainable food system, improving access to nutritious food, diminishing waste, improving education and financial security. We teach them how to recycle their food waste and by-products and use them for things like future grows, animal feed and healthy fertilizers. We also give them access to a network of educators, experts, buyers, and other growers that offer a myriad of benefits, like providing a platform to sell and/or trade excess crops and seeds. We also connect them to local food banks so they can donate extra food. we want to help change the system.❤️ We also want to know your thoughts on reducing food waste and what can be done to ensure access to quality foods for everyone in the future. Leave your thoughts in the comments below, and let’s start a conversation. 💚 #2021

One way to ease world hunger is to provide a market, and the tools to navigate those markets, to farmers in developing countries for their products. This will allow them to produce more and better-quality food and help them and their families financially. Well, guess what… TheXurge does just this. They have a network of educators and experts available to help farmers get the most of their crops – through seed collection, producing healthy fertilizers, tree cloning and crop rotation. They also provide a market that connects growers to buyers - they can sell 6” tree seedlings for around $15/each and get involved in seed collectives. The extra income generated allows families to afford healthcare and children to receive proper education. These programs also help communities get involved in reversing deforestation.

02/09/2021

The most powerful forces generating world hunger have been caused by modern civilization. We have changed the landscape of our planet and diminished it of its resources. By 2050 the population is expected to surpass 9 billion. If our choices can tell us anything thus far, they can tell us it’s time to start talking about changes that can be made before we have cemented a future of struggle and strife for billions of people?
At TheXurge, we have not only started talking, we have started acting. We have developed a Food Production System that uses aquaponic technology to grow plants and produce edible fish year round and in any climate setting. It measures about 10’ x 10’ and can sustainably feed 8 people for life. The aquaponic system uses 90% less water than any soil system of the same size, and it can be set up almost anywhere. There is no need for proper drainage or soil - this virtually closes the gap on the availability of food and access to nutritious food. TheXurge also provides a network of educators and specialists that can be accessed for info on diminishing hunger and getting the most out of the system – like using discards to source future grows, seed collection, compost production, cloning, selling trees and more.
Our current system of food production and distribution may have worked for a while, but as the population grows and resources diminish it is clear it is time to make some changes. Smaller, more sustainable food systems are needed to ensure a bright future for everyone living on and sharing our one planet. How do you feel about this type of food production system?? Leave your thoughts in the comments below, and follow for more talk on a bright future!

February is - wants everyone to remember all the important roles that African Americans have filled throughout history. This man - Percy Lavon Julian - was a renowned chemist who wanted to change the world. Despite his continued battle against structural racism - for lack of access to education, funding, proper employment channels, business ownership - he dedicated his life’s work to bettering human life. For all the accomplishments he fought so hard to achieve, he would still be out there sharing his renowned discoveries in order to save lives and better humanity. For many of us, we will never know what it is like to have to fight for the simplest of human rights, but across the world people continue to fight everyday. Let’s hope we can all take some time to use what we have to give back, like Dr. Julian.

By 2050, 80% of all food is expected to be consumed in cities. That’s why they have an important role in changing the failing food system.
Cities need to be sourcing food that is grown locally - makes an aquaponics system that will make this a reality. With this system, crops can be rotated rather quickly which will improve the micronutrients in the water - resulting in tastier, more nutritious fish and plant crops. A larger variety of crops can be offered - virtually anything can grow using the aquaponics system. Local sourcing = less pollution and less waste - less packaging (that would eventually become waste) and reduced pollution associated with long distance distributions. There is also less food waste because food discards can be used to source future grows. It’s time to embrace this (positive) change. Go with aquaponics, go with TheXurge.

What is aquaponics?

Aq•ua•pon•ics

-a system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish or other aquatic animals supplies nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purify the water.

••Aquaponics is putting fish to work. It just so happens that the work those fish do (eating and producing waste), is the perfect fertilizer for growing plants.

••One cool thing about Aquaponics is that it mimics a natural ecosystem. Aquaponics represents the relationship between water, aquatic life, bacteria, nutrient dynamics, and plants which grow together in waterways all over the world.

••Because Aquaponics uses less water, this system can still be used in drought areas and places that have little water.
