All of my basic cat grooms include a bath, blowdry, nail trim, ear cleaning and deshed. I also offer sanitary trims, belly shaves, lion cuts, combcuts (one length all over/not shaved) as well as a variety of specialty cuts (Dino, Mohawk, ect)

Gooberts first teddybear groom 🧸 ❤️

*Goobert is 7months old and has had several basic grooming sessions (bath, dry, nail trim, ear cleaning, combing)
before being introduced to a full body haircut.
Full body haircuts (teddycut/lioncut) are not a guaranteed service to kittens and cats that have never been professionally groomed before. It’s recommended to start off with a basic service to get them familiar with the grooming process and leaving the additional sounds and sensations of a haircut for the second or third session. Kittens must be over six months old for any haircutting services other than paw pads, sanitation shaves or if severely matted. Basic grooming sessions for kittens can start as early as a few months old as long as they have been examined by their vet first ☺️🐈

Let’s talk about Mats and Pelts! A mat is a tight tangle in the coat. If it is far away enough from the skin, it can be carefully dematted and brushed out. If you wait too long to resolve those little mats and they sink down close to the skin, it would be more humane to shave the area since it is already causing discomfort to the skin.. when THaT tight matting on the skin is ignored long enough.. it starts to combine with other mats in the fur causing a pelt literally trapping an animal in its coat that twist the skin and can even limit mobility when in certain areas. In some cases, the hair will be pulled into matting so badly, the hair will rip out of the skin, damaging the hair follicle and can cause the skin to bruise and hair to not grow back properly. A clean coat will never mat! Having a relationship with your groomer is just as important as the relationship with your vet. Life gets busy!- this video is just a reminder to stay mindful as winter session ends and summer is on the way- this is the most common time of year to see this! 💕
