Lily cuts loose! This video is from Lily's 4th/5th full day with us. This was her breakthrough moment and ever since this day she has tried to play with just about every dog she's met within about 30 seconds to a minute of meeting them
This is Lily. This video is from her 3rd full day with some of the pack. We have had her since last Thursday but didn't get to really working with her until last Sunday/Monday since we had a few other things to finish up before we started to focus with her. She was a very shy, tense, and nervous girl (which led her to aggression with other dogs in the past) so we took our time not pressuring her with all of the dogs right away and worked with her in groups of 3-6 dogs for her first few days. In this video you can see her starting to open up and show us who she really is. Going from being completely avoidant, completely freezing up/ready to protect herself with any dog coming within 2 to 3 feet of her, and also feeling the need to be assertive when dogs were doing little things like moving around in the bushes or even light playing (because it made her uncomfortable) to full out playing and embracing the pack in a matter of a few days is pretty awesome. She is doing great and we will be posting more footage of her days 5 and 6 with us later today.
Rocky hanging with some little peeps! This is Kana Alohilani Penn's pack hanging out with Rocky. This video is within just a couple of minutes of first meeting them and he did awesome. Rocky has been meeting new dogs and people either one on one or with the pack consistently but this was his first time walking into a completely new group of dogs without any familiar dogs around. He did great and even started to play a bit with Ella
Here's a vid of Rocky learning some limitations in play. Molly is one of the highest energy dogs I have ever met and used to take play too far and rough getting her into trouble. Now she is very balanced and knows when to stay calm for another dog during play. You see her knowing when to neutralize the energy and when to pick it back up. Rocky is doing awesome playing with all types of dogs and Molly is still the dog he gets the most excited/energetic to play with. Molly is also available for adoption!
Rocky chill time with the pack
Rocky is doing great socializing with both people and dogs (two of his biggest challenges in the past). This is a huge part of Rocky's learning and rehabilitation combined with learning to be calm and respectful with many new dogs, people, at home and in new environments. Here he is in a group of about 11 dogs all different personalities, energies and all used to have major issues with dogs and/or people and he is communicating very well. His first couple of weeks he was extremely pushy, controlling, clueless and disrespectful towards every dog he introduced himself to, to the point of making even very confident dogs fearful of him or feel the need to challenge him back to try and put him in his place/protect themselves which could have lead to fights since Rocky had a hard time accepting communication. With a little bit of guidance from his humans as well as the pack he is doing awesome not only in the pack, but meeting new dogs both big and little one on one and in group settings. More videos to come this week of Rocky's adventures and daily activities.
