Yesterday, we had to make the difficult decision to help our Sy Sy boy transition to a place that is free of pain. 💔 Sylar was rescued from the shelter 10 years ago and became the ultimate San Diego dog. 🌴 He loved exploring and running at the beach and Fiesta Island. He ran until he couldn't due to arthritis a few years ago. Pet him once and he became your new best friend. He loved helping us sing "Happy Birthday" and always took over the show. He was the best big brother to his annoying little sister, Sophie. I hope she greeted him at the rainbow bridge and they are now running pain and cancer free together. 🥲🌈 We believe she sent us a rainbow last Sunday just for Sy, letting us know it was time. Thank you CoastView Veterinary Hospital for making the transition process so kind & caring for us and our sweet boy. We are going to miss you so much, buddy! 💚

January 11, 2023 feels like yesterday and an eternity all at the same time. It's been two whole years without my Sophie girl. Two whole years without the soul that went through all life's ups and downs by my side for 10 years. Two whole years without being greeted by her wiggle butt when I come through the door. Two whole years without hearing that all too familiar bulldog cry. Two whole years without her seeing her cute little teefers. Two whole years without her curling between our legs to sleep at night. Two whole years without her unconditional love.

The pain never goes away but thankfully the everyday grief does subside. I miss her so much but know that I am so blessed to have so many happy memories of her. Until we meet again, Sofaloaf. 🌈
