That’s a really long time, and sadly most people don’t realize this when buying pets as gifts for others. ⁠

In fact, according to PETA, a shelter in Fargo, North Dakota, reports that in its area, more than 700 animals are turned over to shelters right after the holidays every year. 🐶⁠

Another shelter in Idaho has asked that people don’t give pets as surprise gifts to others. ⁠
⁠
These are sad facts - but important to realize that a pet really is a commitment to training, food, and proper care. If you can’t commit, don’t adopt. ⁠

In 2011, there were 3.9 million dogs being placed in shelters each year.

Now, it’s 3.1 million! 🐶🐶

KKPW hopes to help dogs all over the USA find their furever home. By donating all profits to a shelter of your choice, these shelters are then able to find dogs their new home.

Today marks the month where we give thanks. ❤️

This year, Thanksgiving is celebrated by families all across America on the 25th of November, but we wanted to mark it a little earlier, too.

There are currently 89.7 million dogs in the USA. 3 million of these dogs enter shelters every single year. 🐶

We want to just say a little thank you to all of those that support KKPW. Whether it’s liking our posts, subscribing to our updates, or purchasing our treats, you’re helping us tackle a huge problem for dogs across the country.
