Our doggies still like their walks so it’s good to take a few extra precautions to keep them cool, comfortable and, most importantly, safe!
Warm weather walk tips:
• Take walks when it’s cooler in the morning & evening
• Take frequent breaks in the shade
• Bring water with you. Put a little ice in the water so it stays cool as it melts.
• Inform yourself for signs of heat exhaustion/stroke.
• If you are concerned your dog is overheating, move them to the shade immediately, give them small sips of cool water, pour cool (not cold) water over their head, feet, and body.
• Call a veterinarian if you are concerned for further guidance.
