THIS WEEK ✨
Longer days are upon us, but that doesn’t mean the weather is quite ready to warm up with them! Lows are looking chilly this week after the wind storm, so consider adding an extra layer to your pup in the mornings and evenings! 🌅

We love our here at See Spot Sit, because we love our team and what we do! 🐾💚
This week in the spotlight we are celebrating our team member, Carly! Carly has been with us for 9 months and is an excellent addition to our squad! Not only is Carly an all-star but she naturally fits into the heavy work load that comes with being a pet care provider. We all know the best part about this job is obviously spending time with dogs, but Carly emphasizes that our dogs keep us our healthiest. Being outside and achieving high step counts as an occupation plays into how we should all be structuring our lives, and Carly jokes that our puppers are the equivalent to having multiple reliable workout buddies, daily!
Not only is Carly's humor admired on the team, but her patience and reliability are heavily appreciated. Carly makes a sincere effort and has a deep understanding that each of our dogs have their own independent needs and it takes patience and time to understand their quirks. She is a persistent and dependable team player!
Her patience translates to out of work hobbies where Carly is a woodworking wizard and loves using her hands as a tool to create. She also loves using her hands to create a PB&J which is her go to snack on the job! 😂 One thing she will accomplish on her bucket list is swimming with a whale shark! Our team is so grateful to have Carly; turn up the music on this post and celebrate with us! 🥳

I owe two extremely important moments in my life to the creation and success of See Spot Sit pet sitting & dog walking.
In the beginning…
in 1990, at the age of 13, I started my first job at a dog & cat boarding kennel and grooming shop in San Diego. I was raised with dogs but it was at the kennel where I really learned about dogs. I was taught breeds, personalities, behavior and language, how to keep from getting bitten, how to give vaccines and medication, what to watch for during sickness, how to groom, and above all else I learned how hard it was for people to leave their pets, no matter what amazing trip they were embarking upon.
And then…
in 2000, a friend who I met at the dog park said, “You should do this for a living!” I cared for her cat, multiple dogs and a bird as well as helped her train the newest pup in the family (no easy task!). I had just started college so I had time and a flexible schedule. I jumped in and the rest is pet sitting and dog walking history. For the first 5 years, I worked building the business as a solo pet care provider. When it became apparent that I needed help, like a day off, I started hiring friends who I could trust and taught myself how to train other people to care for pets. Our first hire was 15 years ago and I pride myself on our knowledge, consistency, reliability and genuine care of pets and their home, in addition to loving all animals like our own.
