Two years and almost 24,000 km between the first photo & the second photo.

In the first photo for those who aren’t aware, I had recently lost my heart dog (a Pembroke) in a tragic way and was not sure I even wanted to continue on in dogs. It was through the encouragement of my best friends, the opportunity to have a piece of the herding lines I’d admired for years since coming into the breed, and the trust of Mariana from Elevage de Beaucerons du Val des Rêves that I brought home Tortue Bleu du Val des Rêves at the age of almost 4 months back in 2022.

In the second photo, I have grown in my grief and learned to make room in my soul for that as well as my passion for my breed. I am stronger and happier than I have been before. The dog that I was entrusted with is everything his pedigree and his breeder told me he would be. 💚 A million thank yous will never be enough.

Our magical little painted puppy ended up being m/M for those curious 😉 and has been growing up to be such a cute little lady! She trains with a local Obedience & Rally club and has been out to see Bitterbrush Stock Dog Training in Nevada. She lives with older beauceron brother Huxley in the Reno area and loves hikes.

Our little harlequin DeSoto x Océane daughter is a spitfire and looks so much like her father as she ages. She is currently a demo dog in training for a professional trainer at Bulletproof Dog Training in Ohio! Her herding instinct is strong and we can’t wait to see what sports she gets into this year.

Risotto is a happy go lucky guy with all the right drives and attitude his owner was looking for in her next beauceron. He lives in Arizona near his sire DeSoto & aunt Salem and participates in weight pull, obedience training, and dock diving!

An absolute fan favorite wherever he goes just like his father, "GrisGris" finished his AKC Championship this past year and also attended the WBA Journée in the early winter. Gris had already been showing in Junior Showmanship solely since the summer and it was no surprise to either of us when he measured just outside of the standard in the Morphology portion thus getting a "Disqualifé" rating. We are also not surprised and thrilled to say his temperament is as solid as everyone sees with a 9-8-8. He currently stands in the AKC rankings as the #2 Juniors Dog for the breed and we are so proud of that team for their accomplishments together! 🥳

Jamais is our matriarch, the place where it all began. We are so thrilled to see not only her participate again in a Journée du Beauceron while receiving Excellent in Morphology and an 8-8-8 in Temperament at 9+ years of age but to see her children and grandchildren participate under these judges with her, all while Jamais' breeder Beaucerons du Chateau Rocher was able to watch. It is through seeing these tests and hearing these opinions from the French judges that we can understand the next steps or the direction we need to head in for our program and ultimately for the betterment of the breed as a whole. Jamais won Best Veteran/Altered in Journée at the 2023 WBA Journée too!

Another update on our minds is sweet girl "Tilly"! She and her owner Misty drove down from Central California to participate in the WBA 2023 Journée, along with her sister "Sheila" from our Océane x DeSoto litter. Tilly has always been a softer beauceron especially with social pressure, so we are not surprised at her temperament score of 8-4-6 but are proud regardless for them showing up and exhibiting knowing this weakness already as it is important to see the full spectrum of the breed at these events. She is still a very lovely little beauceron female so she naturally received an Excellent rating in Morphology. 🥰 In her off time of not being at silly dog shows, she is a beloved pet that takes trips to San Francisco and enjoys her house mates dearly.
