I miss my kids....

This is my son Dakota. He now lives in the world of spirits. I chose the name Dakota because it’s a Native American term for friend or friendly. It also reminds me that we are not the original inhabitants of this country nor are we the caretakers that they were.

Dakota’s life was cut short for one single important reason. I fell into the trap of believing that the food I was buying him at the pet store was what he was supposed to eat and that being autonomous with his diet was not something that I could do on my own to provide him optimal health.

I WAS WRONG. I’ve since learned that the ingredients that almost ALL pet food companies use are waste products of some sort and some of the them are not even food based. Palatants are then sprayed onto the food to fool dogs and cats into eating something that should be thrown away. This caused a loss of vitality over time and lead to a debilitating and then life threatening illness that could have been prevented through a proper diet of whole food nutrition. The main purpose of Dakota’s death, which was the hardest lesson I’ve ever learned, was to make me aware of what I had done by feeding him the wrong food. This also goes for my other son Max who passed away one month after Dakota. I had to lose both of my dogs (Max and Dakota i.e. Maxota) to lead me to the truth about what I should have been feeding them all along: fresh, raw, human grade foods.

My loss is why Maxota Raw exists. AJ and I have created Maxota Raw to be the best and most trusted pet food you can feed your animals and to join the movement to make people aware of the lie that has fooled us all by one of the most corrupt industries on the planet. I am an orphan and I grew up impoverished but I was fortunate enough to always be surrounded by animals wherever I went. To say I care about animals is an understatement, and I’ve learned my best qualities from them. Loyalty, commitment, selflessness and the list goes on. They didn’t care how poor I was or what I looked like and they loved me unconditionally. Dogs are spirit guides and are the best guardians humans have ever known and will know. They deserve to be fed and treated as equals, not less than.

Tony and I on our family walk on Fourth of July 2021. 3 meals into his new diet. Personally I take nutritional yeast because it has B-vitamins that are essential for balances irritability levels and emotion. Tony has always been very ornery and unfriendly around other dogs. One week in and I’ve noticed a marked improvement on his behavior involving other dogs. He is far less aggressive and confrontational. We are 6 days into his new diet. He has never been able to go off leash at dog parks or beaches, and perhaps he may never will be, but with the swift improvement I’ve witnessed in the past week, I can tell that the spectrum of dogs that he can peacefully interact with has already widened. I am very optimistic that he will be able to achieve social balance, time will tell. This all stems from food. Food provide the nutrients which nourish the body and regulate the hormones. Dehydration and nutrient deficiency exasperates the hormonal system. Hormones such as cortisol and other mood regulating hormones are thrown off their axis. McDonald’s fries out all the nutrients. If you are feeding your dog kibble, you are feeding your dog the equivalent of McDonald’s. And I don’t know about you, but the last time I had McDonald’s back to back meals, I never wanted to see it again. Tony has been celebrating like Deion Sanders in the end zone after every meal. He sprints to the couch, Superman’s into the pillows, lays on his side, and does the running man. He’s done it 12 out of 12 times with his raw meals. I see a new found appearance of appreciation in his eyes, and his ability to find and maintain eye contact has markedly improved as well. I don’t know, maybe it’s the food.

Aussie Wiggle-butt review of the new Baja Hali-but(t) Skins at Urban Wolf:

Hiya frens! Just wanted to let you know about my first experience with the new dried Baja Halibut Skins my dad got me from Urban Wolf. Scroll through the pics so I can walk you through my review process.

Pic 1: Try to act calm when dad opens the bag. This is probably the hardest part, but will ensure he doesn’t require you to do a bunch of silly tricks just to get one. **PRO TIP** - imagine he just told you you’re due for a bath; this will minimize your otherwise out-of-control butt wiggle and make it seem like it’s no big deal to your pawrent.

Pic 2: Hold the skin between a couple of your paw pads. This will let you enjoy the flavor again later when you lick your paws.

Pic 3: I like to get my tongue under it while I’m chomping. This is an advanced move, but totally worth the effort so you can really taste the yumminess.

Pic 4: Self-explanatory. You guys know this one; when the treat is gone, you lick as much of your own face as your tongue allows.

The Baja Halibut definitely gets the best review possible (my fastest wiggle-butt), so check them out or DM me if you’d like more info. Urban Wolf has some other new healthy dried meat treats as well, so keep an eye out for more wiggle-butt reviews.
