What does it mean when we say we’re fear free?

All of our employees are certified fear free veterinary professionals to ensure that your pet experiences minimal fear, stress, and anxiety during their time with us! This is a huge benefit to our more anxious or aggressive patients like Mr. Waylon! We have been working with him for a while now and have his visits down to a science to keep him as comfortable as possible. We utilize treats, calming masks and numbing cream for all pokes and are now able to work really well with him. For some patients we prescribe medication to help ease the anxiety before and during the exam to keep everyone safe and calm!

Looking for a fear free approach? Give us a call!!

Crating your dog can be a valuable training tool and a safe, cozy space for them. To prevent destructive behavior, use a crate when house-training your puppy, during travel, or when you can't directly supervise them. However, avoid crating your dog for extended periods and never use the crate as punishment. Visit our vet if your dog has atypical behaviors that need further evaluation. tierrasantavetsd.com
