SDHRS adoptable rabbit Pocket has been here for almost 11 months. He came to us when he was a little infant and now he is 11 months old and still looking for his forever home. Will that be you?❤️#adoptable #adoptdontshop🐾 #pocket #rabbitrabbit

🌈🐰 Remembering Bear: A Journey of Love and Resilience ❤️
Bear, along with his sister Delaney and mom Brianna, came to SDHRS in 2016 as a trio. Sadly, after returning to the shelter in 2021, we lost Brianna. Both Bear and Delaney were in rough shape, battling kidney failure and given only months to live.
Thanks to his amazing vet and devoted foster mom, Bear defied the odds and thrived for another 3 years. Recently, we made the heart-wrenching decision to help him cross the rainbow bridge, with Delaney and his foster mom by his side until the end.
Binky free, sweet Bear. You will always be in our hearts. 💔✨ #BinkyFreeBear #SDHRS #ForeverInOurHearts

Welcome Lewis, one of SDHRS’s newest arrivals! He is a curious and sociable bunny available for adoption beginning next week! He’s not too keen on being touched in his pen, but once he is placed on a lap, he will soak up all the attention! 🌈💔 Remembering our sweet Truffles, the tiny chocolate bunny who stole our hearts. From a Las Vegas dump site rescue to a life filled with love, she brought joy to everyone around her. Thank you, Andy, Wendy and Petey for giving her the best care in her golden years. Your compassion means everything. Until we meet again, Truffles. Binky free, sweet girl. 🐰✨ #fosteringsaveslives #ForeverInOurHearts #rescuerabbit
For an adoption, this is why one of our requirements for our potential adopters is that they set up a 4' x 4' x pen with a minimum height of 30" with access to a larger out to play area. A cage or hutch does not provide adequate space for a rabbit to be happy and comfortable and does not leave enough room for all of the items a rabbit requires. Cage living can lead to boredom, disengagement, behavioral issues, cage aggression, and depression. Look at SDHRS adoptable rabbit zoom around in his pen! The SDHRS rabbits are in a rotation to get out to play time to get more space to play.
