What are the best ways to socialize a puppy? Good question, try these 3 simple steps: 👇🐶✅ STEP 1️⃣ Before socializing your puppy, you want to make sure you have their FULL attention. The goal is to get your puppy to focus on YOU, not other dogs and distractions. You can do this by incentivizing your puppy with food, toys, and love! You want to be the fun and the value source for your pup 🐾 STEP 2️⃣ Find your puppy an older mentor! This may be a dog that is already part of your family or a friend’s dog that you see often. Older dogs tend to correct puppies and often teach them the right way to behave 🐶➡️🐕‍🦺 STEP 3️⃣ SELECTIVE SOCIALIZATION - don’t just let your puppy socialize with anyone or any dog (at first). Find a local park that you like and have your dog socialize with other dogs there for a while first.
