Sorry we have been a little quiet over here!

I just got back from a trip to Japan and it was so interesting to see how different the dog culture is there! They just love their little dogs. I have an 11 year-old Yorkie in addition to the two big labs so I love a little dog.

I visited quite a few cities and universally I saw these breeds:

•Shiba Inus
•Yorkshire Terriers
•Pomeranians
•Dachshunds
•Miniature Poodles

& these two Chihuahuas 😂

I only saw one large dog and it was an Akita. All of the dogs were so well behaved. They love their dogs there for sure! Just like them small. 😊

I loved the Poodle being groomed because I follow a few accounts that have that particular style that’s popular there. At one point there were two groomers working on the dog. It was artful.

So glad to be back, though! Love the big dogs, too, and looking forward to seeing all of my clients.

⭐️ Looking 4 Furever Home

Queenie is an 8 month old German Shepherd with plenty of energy so an active family would be good. Her current family just couldn’t give her everything she needed so they wanted to find a home that could give her more. She is a very healthy, up-to-date on all of her vaccines but she has not been spayed yet. Queenie is a lovable dog she can be a little nervous and needs someone that will be patient with her and give her time to open up. She is a real sweetie once she builds trust with her people which is typical German Shepherd trait. She is timid with dogs but not aggressive so she would be best for a home with no other dogs or children under 12 years old.

She has had some training and her new family would be able to attend one free round of group class with Finest City Dog Training as a part of her adoption.

This little guy started training last week as well!

This cutie is Cooper and, as you can see, he and Shannon are getting along great. 😂

Cooper’s mom started school and he’s not quite old enough to be left alone for too long. Shannon will be coming to pet sit during the day for a few hours a day for potty and play while Mom is away. Ruff work!

This a sweet and spunky Carma! As you can see, I couldn’t decide on just one. 😂

She is a Bohemian Shepherd and they are ancient sheep herding dogs from the Czechoslovakian region. She is loving her life in the US and is smart as can be. 🐾 As a working breed, she is going to thrive the best with a job and we are starting with the basics. Look at her little “Sit”. 🥰 Carma will be living on a couple of acres so she’s going to be able to go all out. Lucky girl!

William looks pretty proud of himself and he should be because he’s doing awesome! 🐾👏🏻

William is training with Emily and his owner to get his obedience skills super solid as well help him work through all the different stages of development from puppyhood through adolescence and all that comes with it. He’s already a big boy at barely 6 months! 👀🐕

We just love getting updates from our clients! A successful hike up Cowles Mountain is a big accomplishment for these two. 💪🏻🐾❤️

Barnabas and Shiloh came to us with a few issues on leash that are typical for their breed but each of them had their own individual challenges as well.

Barnabas “Barney” has some fear/anxiety when it comes to noises and generally anything new introduced into his environment. Shiloh, on the other hand, had the typical challenges of the breed with wanting the “herd” anything that moves when she is on a walk.

With both dogs, we are taking the approach of “obedience overrides behavior”. By giving them both a “job”, they are by focused on something healthier rather than fear, like in Barney’s case, or a job they think they need to do, like in Shiloh’s case.

“At Emily’s first visit to our home we saw improvement with Roxy, our 1y/o Mini Aussie. Emily is so gentle and explains in a gentle effective manner, so that I can see what I need to be doing.
