It’s no secret that shelters and rescues in San Diego County have been struggling with the number of dogs in care for months. Project Dog Foster, a pro bono marketing effort spearheaded by CSBimpact and Simpler&Simpler, was created to shine a light on the urgent need for dog fosters.

For this special countywide campaign, we’re thrilled to team up with our partners in the San Diego Animal Welfare Coalition — including Chula Vista Animal Care Facility, Frosted Faces Foundation, PAWS of Coronado, Rancho Coastal Humane Society and San Diego County Animal Services— to make a greater impact for shelter dogs in our region.

With more than 1,100 dogs in care, our shelters are facing a crisis — and YOU can help solve it by becoming a foster volunteer! Whether you open your home for a few days, weeks or months, any time spent outside of the shelter is beneficial for a dog! In addition to giving dogs a break from crowded shelter environments, you’ll create much-needed space to care even more animals in need.

As a foster volunteer, you'll have support every step of the way. Whether you choose to foster with San Diego Humane Society or another participating shelter or rescue, the organization will provide everything you need including training, food, supplies and veterinary care, while you provide a loving temporary home! Visit projectdogfoster.org to learn how you can become foster volunteer today!
