UPDATE K9 Rocky: He’s on the mend! Just two days after being shot twice by a suspect hiding in a dumpster, federal K-9 officer Rocky is back with his handler and will soon be back on the job. 🐕❤️‍🩹

Many may feel Rocky should be able to retire. However these dogs are highly intelligent and love doing what they do. We hope his handler will be able to make the best decision at the right time. Continued prayers for the Vargas family. 🤍🙏

These are the current pups at our shelter who need rescue! The shelter is located outdoor s and is exposed to all weather elements! On Tuesday we are expecting it to drop to 20 degrees! 🥶🐕We have received heating mats, tarps , heating lamps which have helped tremendously!! XL jackets are still needed ❤️🙌Thank you 😊 ❤️🙏

An Update on K-9 Rocky. Thought and prayers to the Vargas family. 🤍

Kkhou11 K-9 Rocky continues to recover after being shot yesterday in southwest Houston. Rocky was shot by the man who investigators say killed Brazoria Co. Deputy Jesus Vargas. The K-9 officer was shot when he found the suspect in a dumpster.

Rocky's handler stayed overnight at the hospital and hasn't left his side. ❤️s

Hello ladies. I have an urgent plea for help. A woman contacted me about a Rottie she rescued from an abusive home 4 months ago. He was kept in a basement, was starved, and had mange. She wasn’t allowed to go to get him, the family knew they would be reported. A friend contacted her because she loves the breed and has one of her own. The dog she rescued, Chop is 2 yrs old, and not good with other dogs. She has been able to have him coexist with her dog, but it has been stressful and challenging.

A few months ago Chop went after a dog who was with his owner as they exited the elevator. The dog owner broke up the fight but sustained an injury. He reported it, and the rescuer, Shawana, received a letter from her coop’s attorney that both dogs need to go by Jan 27th. She had no intention of keeping Chop, and with no luck has tried to get him placed for months. She is extremely upset that they also want her dog gone, who has no behavior issues, but merely as an association with Chop.

Shawna is going to fight to keep her dog who is 7 and a beloved member of the family.

Back to Chop, he needs slow intro to adults, he hasn’t been tested with kids, but it’s not recommended. Shawana got him neutered, vaccinated, and nursed him back to health from the sad soul he was when she got him 4 months ago. She has invested alot if time and money into him and loves him, but she is at the end if her rope. If he isn’t placed by Jan 26th, she has no other option but to bring him to ACC, the high kill shelters of NYC or euthanize him.

Does anyone have Rottie rescue contacts, or any ideas for this young dog who has potential to be a well behaved dog if only given the chance?

This is the moment when Rocky was being loaded onto the DPS chopper. Rocky is a U.S. Marshall K9 who was shot after he sniffed a suspect in dumpster. He was expected to survive. And is being called a hero.

CALIFORNIA PSA‼️: If you live anywhere near the fires, please be aware that wild animals are fleeing the fires and they may show up in your yards.

The California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection is urging you to bring your domestic animals in at night and let the wild animals pass through.

Please put out buckets of water for them.

They are scared, exhausted, and have also lost their homes.

Please repost.

It's a chimena with a heat lamp on top. It makes the clay warm and the cats love it.
