People can experience emotions such as grief and sorrow while their pets are still alive, knowing the loss to come when their best friend passes.

A background on Sasha and her story:

Some of you may remember Sasha. Four years ago, her owners contacted Paws into Grace to schedule a home euthanasia appointment. After reviewing her medical records and conducting a quality-of-life evaluation, we discovered that Sasha had been seen by a veterinarian who recommended an in-depth TPLO (Tibial-Plateau-Leveling Osteotomy) surgery.

Unfortunately, her owners felt unprepared to manage the surgery and rehabilitation, ultimately deciding to relinquish her to Paws into Grace. Thanks to our team’s efforts, we were able to get Sasha the care she needed—Dr. Benson ultimately saved her life!

Since then, our cremation office manager, Brooke, has been Sasha’s devoted owner and caretaker. Recently, Brooke noticed Sasha was losing weight, and after some bloodwork, Dr. Benson determined her blood sugar levels were dangerously high. Brooke immediately rushed her to the veterinarian.

While Paws into Grace has helped as much as possible, Sasha now needs specialized care from a clinic with more resources to treat her emergency condition.

If you’ve followed Sasha’s journey over the years or feel moved to support her, we would truly appreciate any donations. Sasha has become family to all of us at Paws into Grace—she even comes to work most days with Brooke. Now, we’re rallying to help Brooke with medical expenses, as she has so selflessly fostered Sasha all these years.

Your pet is ready to be picked up from our cremation office, but you’re not sure what to expect....

First, we ask that you call or text our office before picking up your pet. This helps ensure everyone’s privacy and respect for others who may be dropping off or picking up a pet.

Once you have an appointment, here’s what you can expect when you arrive:

1. Your pet’s ashes and memorial items will be packaged and prepared before your arrival. The items will be ready as soon as you get there.

2. We’ll ask if you’d like to see the items we’ve prepared for you, such as the paw print, urn, and other memorial items you’ve ordered. If you prefer not to see them, that’s perfectly fine.

3. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about the process. You’re welcome to relax in our warm & welcoming office while we assist you.

4. The process usually takes just a few minutes unless there are additional questions or memorial items to review.

Heart of Gold's Shelter does amazing work for animals in our community 🩷🩷🫶🏼🫶🏼 they are located in El Cajon area.

Hey Paws Family, we need your help!

We’re looking for the perfect home for Zoey, a sweet and affectionate 3-year-old purebred Boxer. Due to personal circumstances, her family has made the decision to rehome her, and we want to ensure she finds a loving home where she’ll be cherished.

Zoey is:
✔️ Spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated (including rabies)
✔️ Wonderful with children—gentle and affectionate
✔️ Playful, energetic, and full of love

She would thrive as the only pet in the home, as she’s not a fan of cats (she loves to chase them) and has shown some food aggression with other dogs.
