She began riding regularly at age 9 and made quick progress through hard practice and a love of reading. After just two years of regular riding she was an intermediate and through an act of God, her middle class parents and grandparents put all their eggs in one basket to buy her dream horse: Sky Yak, a 4 year old off track thoroughbred by Skywalker (Breeders Cup Classic winner and direct descenda
nt of Man O' War"). April's instructor thought she was going to get killed (no joke) because this mare was hot as a pistol, but it was a match made in heaven. Sky was also in foal, so there were 2 training projects in one. Sky's filly was named Dreamer and was so well trained that she was walking and trotting 3 loop serpentine on their first ride. At 3 years old Dreamer was sold. The sale was so successful that it launched April's professional career in horse sales. Word got around of her skill and the rest is history. April moved to San Diego in 2018. Her passion is working with Thoroughbreds as well as horses AND humans who’ve been through trauma and need some TLC. She offers lessons and training in your horse, as well as Equine Healing Sessions for either your horse or with her super special healing horse Dolly.
