Ok my chicken friends, I have a problem with my favorite hen. She has consistently laid one egg every day since she came of age. However this changed over the last 48 hours. Yesterday, she laid a good, ānormalā, egg. It had good color and a fully developed shell. About twelve hours later she had a surprise soft shell egg, I say surprise, because she wasnāt anywhere near her normal laying spot. She followed that up this morning with another perfectly normal egg. Thatās 3 eggs in 24 hours. Then this evening, roughly 12 hours after her first egg for today, she had a surprise soft shell egg, followed by an egg with no shell at all. This makes a total of 5 eggs in roughly 36-38 hours. She acts normal in all other ways. Is there anything that can be done to slow her cycle so the eggs have enough time to develop?
