Join us in celebrating Shelley Costantini's remarkable dedication as a volunteer at Rincon Hill Dog Park! Shelley was honored with a commendation by SF District 6 Supervisor Dorsey at City Hall for her exceptional work and commitment to our beloved dog park.
Rincon Hill Dog Park, located at Bryant and Beale Streets in San Francisco, is a unique Street Park, run entirely by volunteers. Unlike Parks and Rec parks, we rely on the community's support for upkeep and improvement.
We are always in need of more volunteers, monthly donations, and new board members to help us continue providing a safe and enjoyable space for our furry friends. The dogs in our neighborhood come from diverse backgrounds, creating a vibrant and friendly atmosphere.
Did you know that our park sees an average of 200 canine visitors each week? Each one adds to the lively and welcoming spirit of our community.
💙 How You Can Help 💙
- Volunteer: We need dedicated individuals to help with park maintenance and events.
- Donate: Your monthly donations help keep the park clean and safe.
- Join the Board: We have open board seats for passionate community members.

I hope this post finds you and your furry friends well. I'm writing to you today to share important information about a mysterious and potentially fatal respiratory illness that has been affecting dogs in several states, including California. CIRDC, a respiratory illness caused by various bacteria and viruses, can occasionally spread through dog populations. Transmission occurs through respiratory droplets.
I recently spoke with Dr. Pal's team at South Park Animal Hospital in our community about this concerning illness. They emphasized the importance of early detection and intervention, urging dog owners to immediately seek veterinary care if they notice any signs of respiratory distress, particularly a persistent cough. Dr. Pal also reminded us that while there is no need to panic, taking precautionary measures to protect our canine companions is crucial.
Here are some key steps to consider:
Limit Exposure to Other Dogs: Consider temporarily limiting your dog's interactions with other dogs, especially in crowded environments like dog parks or kennels.
Maintain Up-to-Date Vaccinations: Ensure your dog is up-to-date on all recommended vaccinations.
Observe for Symptoms: Be vigilant in monitoring your dog's health. Common symptoms of the illness include coughing, sneezing, eye or nose discharge, and abnormal fatigue. If you notice any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Practice Good Hygiene: Do not use shared water bowls or toys. Disinfect shared spaces.
Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated on the latest information about the illness by following reliable sources like the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or your local veterinary clinic.
Early detection and prompt medical attention are crucial in managing this mysterious illness. By staying informed, taking precautions, and seeking veterinary care if needed, we can help keep our dogs safe and healthy.
Together, we can navigate this situation with care and concern for our b
Dear Community Members,
We're thrilled to share some amazing news: thanks to your incredible support, we not only met but exceeded our fundraising goal for THIS month – by an extra $130! This achievement truly reflects the spirit and dedication of our community. 🎉
However, our journey towards ensuring the dog park's future is far from over. While we've managed to keep the park running this month, our current financial structure means we're facing these challenges on a month-to-month basis. We currently have $220 in monthly subscriptions, which is a great start, but not enough to secure our park's future.
The Challenge:
Relying on one-time donations makes our situation uncertain each month.
Regular fundraising efforts are taxing for our volunteers and can create anxiety within our neighborhood.
The possibility of monthly closure notices is not ideal for any of us.
The Solution:
Monthly Subscriptions: A steady flow of monthly donations can provide the stability and predictability we need.
Less Stress: Regular income reduces the burden on volunteers and the community, preventing constant worry about potential closures.
Sustainable Future: Ensures our park remains a thriving, safe space for our dogs and community members.
How You Can Help:
Sign Up for Monthly Donations: Even a small monthly contribution can make a huge difference.
Spread the Word: Encourage friends and neighbors to consider a monthly commitment.
Keep the Momentum Going: Your ongoing support will help transform our fundraising from a sprint into a sustainable marathon.
Together, we can turn our beloved dog park into a lasting legacy for our community. Let’s aim to shift from uncertainty to stability, one monthly subscription at a time.
Thank you for your unwavering support!
Warm regards,
The Volunteer Team
