Our Story
Welcome to Rescue Row, the home of San Francisco Animal Care and Control, the San Francisco SPCA, and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. On just one city block, over ten thousand animals find their forever homes each year, and tens of thousands of people find their loving companions. In 2014, the City of San Francisco Board of Supervisors gave this very special slice of real estate, the 200 block of Alabama Street between 15th and 16th Streets, the honorary designation of Rescue Row, the only place like it in the country. We invite you to visit us on Rescue Row, support your local adoption centers and rescues, and find your perfect match..
Located on the section of Alabama Street in San Francisco, located between 15th and 16th streets., "Rescue Row" is the honorary name approved by the City and Country of San Francisco thanks to the Board of Supervisors on May 6, 2014. It was unveiled during the 2014 Maddie's Pet Adoption Days event.
We thank the office of San Francisco Supervisor David Campos for sponsoring the resolution to adopt the name Rescue Row, and we appreciate all of the city Supervisors for voting yes to adoption!
All the residing organizations on Rescue Row work together to find new beginnings for all of our rescued animals. Please stop by Rescue Row when you are ready to adopt a new pet. After all, it's "where Love happens."
