I FOUND THE LETTER OF MY DAUGHTER WHAT WAS FOR SANTA, MY DAUGHTER ASKED FOR âTHE SAME HEART-SHAPED EARRINGS DAD GAVE TO MY NANNYâ SAID SHE
My husband Jerry and I have an 8-year-old daughter, Ruth, who cherishes her Christmas traditions. Every year, she writes a special letter to Santa and places it in the freezer, convinced thatâs where Santa collects it. Itâs a quirky but heartwarming family ritual.
This year, everything seemed normalâuntil I read her letter. After Ruth had gone to bed, I carefully opened the folded paper, eager to see what sheâd wished for. But as I read her innocent words, my heart sank.
She had drawn a pair of heart-shaped earrings and written:
âDear Santa, please bring me the same heart-shaped earrings Dad gave to my nanny! Thank you!â
I froze, disbelief washing over me. My thoughts spiraled uncontrollably. Was Jerry having an affairâwith Gloria, our nanny? A string of moments came rushing back: the warm smiles he reserved for her, his insistence on her working late, his unusual attentiveness whenever she was around. Could I have been blind to something so glaring?
Determined to uncover the truth, I set up a nanny cam early the next morning, my hands trembling with every adjustment. At first, everything seemed routineâGloria played with Ruth, cleaned up the toys, and carried on with her usual duties.
Then, out of nowhere, Jerry walked inâhours earlier than he was supposed to. My heart leapt into my throat as I watched the screen, dread coiling tighter around me with every passing second.
I couldnât sit idly by. Racing home, I burst through the front door, my voice quivering with anger and fear. âWhatâs going on here?â I demanded, the words tumbling out before I could stop myself. âŹď¸
