The Whole Dog Catalog - Trick Dog Menu #14
The Whole Dog Catalog - Trick Dog Menu #14
We present the following with all due respect and admiration and apologies to Stewart Brand and the Whole Earth Family.
Stay Thirsty
Stay Foolish
The WHOLE DOG MENU functions as an evaluation and access device. With it, the drinker should know better what cocktail is worth getting and where and how to do the getting.
So far, remotely done power and glory – as via government, big business, formal education – has succeeded to the point where gross defects obscure actual gains. In response to this dilemma, and to these gains a realm of intimate, personal power is developing – power of the individual to conduct their own education, find their own inspiration, shape their own environment, make their own drinks, and share their adventure with whoever is interested. Cocktails that aid this process are sought and promoted by the WHOLE DOG MENU.
Sales of this menu will be donated to The Bon Vivants Scholarship at ScholarMatch supporting first generation students in pursuit of higher education.

From the The Joy of Cocktails - A Trick Dog Cookbook Forward:
"We recall a time in the not too distant past when bartenders on a quest to offer cocktails with quality ingredients and a unique point of view would timidly slink through the swinging doors to the kitchen of their restaurants, during an off-hour, and quietly ask to take some sugar, water, a pot, and an out-of-the-way burner to make some simple syrup. It felt like asking your much cooler older brother to borrow the Trans Am. Please, let him be in a good mood! I can’t take another wedgie!
Today, things could not be more different. The bar and the kitchen, the bartender and the chef, have forged a bond in recognition that good food and good drink share a common cause. They both celebrate ingredients, seek to transform and marry those ingredients, strive to create flavor adventures, and together make everything become greater than the sum of the parts.
We now offer The Joy of Cocktails: a Trick Dog Cookbook. This book, our twelfth cocktail menu, celebrates chefs everywhere. For if it were not for great chefs and restaurants, there would not be great cocktail bars. This book, more specifically, celebrates the unrivaled culinary landscape of San Francisco. And most importantly, this book celebrates finally being able to use that burner in the kitchen.
For this menu, we asked sixteen San Francisco chefs, all of whom have impacted us in some way, to participate in a collaborative menu project that we would format like a cookbook and use to raise money for a non-profit we all believe in. We admire these chefs for their incredible talents and delicious food, but more so for the way that

Trick Dog Airways - For Your Safety
At Trick Dog we change our cocktail menu every six months. We like our menus to look like just about anything other than a cocktail menu. They have looked like paint swatch books; they have looked like dog calendars; they have looked like Chinese restaurant menus; we've made a couple art books... For this, our eleventh menu, we present to you Trick Dog Airways — For Your Safety.
The Menu is of course for sale and all proceeds will benefit Seven Tepees Youth Program whose mission is to work with urban youth entrusted to their care to foster the skills they need to make lifelong positive choices and to create their own opportunities for success.
"Now, sit back, enjoy your flight, and as always, Thank you for flying Trick Dog Airways."
About Trick Dog's Menus - In 2017, we were awarded World's Best Cocktail Menu at the Tales of the Cocktail's Spirited Awards and the sales from the two 2017 menus "Trick Dog Mural Project" and What Rhymes with Trick Dog?" donated $20,000 to Precita Eyes Muralists, Creativity Explored, McSweeney's, and SOMArts Cultural Center.
Thanks to Jordan Miller for the sweet Safety Vid!
