Seven Lab mix puppies (4 male, 3 female) Foster Needed/Adoptable
Background. These 7 puppies were found nursing from their mama dog in a "red-tagged" abandoned house in Lake County. Approx. DOB 11/8/2024. Taken to the Lake County shelter for care and safety, we brought them and mama into our program. Mama dog "Kashi" (our name for her) will soon be up for adoption. The shelter recorded that Kashi and her puppies are Pit Bull Terriers. We feel the puppies are more Labby than Pitty -- you be the judge. We are delighted to have the opportunity to help them find forever homes.

What the puppies' Foster says:
Whenever someone enters the room the puppies all come running with their tails wagging. In the short time since they left the shelter, they are getting the hang of using the p*e pad, keeping their crate clean!
Yellow male "Charlie Brown" (yellow collar)
Yellow male "Schroeder" (red collar)
Yellow male "Linus" (teal collar)
Chocolate male "Woodstock" (green collar)
Chocolate female "Peppermint Patty" (purple collar)
Chocolate female "Marcie" (lavender collar)
Chocolate female "Lucy" (orange collar)
What Rescue Rep says. The puppies have not completed their cycle of puppy vax and need to be quarantined in their adopter's home/backyard until fully vax (late February). Adopting a young puppy is much like having a newborn baby in the home: very demanding for care and attention, can't be left alone much, cries a lot. Eat, poop/p*e, play, sleep.... The adopters will need to be home most (if not all the time), have a home with a backyard, and be fully aware of what puppy care is all about. Not for those who are not ready to fully commit. Need to have a plan for puppy training/socialization with other puppies. Prior young dog experience is not required but preferable. No other dogs in the home under 2 years old. Cats okay. The employment of a crate and exercise pen (x-pen) will be important too.
Medical. All 7 puppies appear to be in fine health. Lucy does have an umbilical hernia that will need surgery to repair it; Lab Rescue will pay for that surgery. They have received their first distemper vax -- two more to go... in late January and late February. Spaying/neutering, chipping, Rabies vax are down the road and covered by Lab Rescue.
Located in: Palo Alto.
