❤ Cat of the Day - Chester! ❤
Chester was found as a stray back in 2007. The people who found him were unable to keep him and the local animal control said he would be euthanized due to him being sick and blind. They ended up contacting us and begging that we take him…of course, we could not say no. He had nowhere to go. He was at the vet the next day, had his eyes taken care of and was neutered. 2 years ago, he was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma and diabetes. However, Chester is still here and doing well!

He absolutely loves his wheel and often you can find him and Peanut strolling side by side on it! He enjoys climbing on shoulders, especially when you’re cleaning, and loves nothing more than to take you on walks. You can often find him cuddling with his fur friends Meghan and Peanut. It’s because of your support that Chester is here today, and that we are able to provide the top quality care to keep him healthy and happy. Thank you so much for your dedication to the cats! It has made a difference in not only Chester’s life but his friends as well!! ❤

This poor puppy, Brave Heart, had his jaw and nose blown off after monsters strapped explosives in his mouth.

The 3-month-old dog’s jaw was blown to pieces and the rescue was not sure the pup would survive.

Brave Heart was brought to the local vet by the Good Samaritan that found him and the rescue agreed to pay for the necessary surgeries.

“While one side of the bottom jaw is severely damaged, the vet feels there’s enough remaining jaw for ‘Brave Heart’ to be able to eat and drink. The damage to the nose and nasal cavity has been cleared of necrotic tissue as well as sewn back together,” posted the rescue

Brave Heart underwent four surgeries to rebuild his muzzle with a prosthetic jaw...

❤ Cat of the Day - Marshmallow ❤
Marshmallow is a senior blind kitty who came to us in 2019 from an animal control facility in Charlotte, NC. When he arrived to BCR he was unneutered, had a mouth full of rotted teeth, a terrible case of pneumonia, and a severely matted coat due to neglect. He was, understandably, not fond of people at first. Once we had his teeth taken care of and his pneumonia cleared up however, he started to feel better and realize people weren't so bad!

It took some time for him to adjust to having roommates but now, two years later, he is one of the biggest cuddle bugs! You can often find him laying with Izzy, Sterling, and whoever else is willing to cuddle with him. Thank you all so much for your support, because of it, we were able to help Marshmallow get the medical care he needed! 🥰
