We were contacted at the begining of the year in 2023 to talk about an aquarium idea for a house undergoing a full renovation. After speaking to the client and the contractor, I had enough information to design the tank and get a quote going. The client wanted a room divider, tall, easily maintained...
Custom 400 Gallon Freshwater Cichlid aquarium. We were contacted when the home was being fully renovated to design a tank that will serve as a room divider and viewable on 3 sides as a Peninsula tanks! One of our favorite type of tanks. It took a year from when we were first contacted until water went into the tank as we had to wait for all the construction to be complete. This tank has top notch filtration and best of all, automatic water changes! Maintenance on a tank like this is easier than your Petco tanks! At 4 months, there are still some tannins in the water, but we love how this turned out and we are proud to show it off.

As Ocean Treasures hits its 15th anniversary milestone, it is time to finally install my own custom aquarium. There is still much to do until this thing sees water, but this 48 x 44 x 24 tank is finnally in place. This tank will be tricked out of course. The OTS way. We will be updating as we go!
Where most our aquariums are designed.
The 700 gallon monster is so big i cant even get a full frontal picture! Tank is almost done cycling. Cant wait to fill it up!
Few months in on this 400 gallon Freshwater Hardscape build and tannins are 90% gone, cabinetry skin is complete, and tank is full of fish. Tank is looking good!

It took 2 pallets of sand and rock to aquascape this monster of a tank. Water soon.

Some progress pics of todays work. 75% of plumbing is conplete. Aquascape is all done.
This monster of a tank was built by to our design. 12.5 feet long, 36 wide, 30 tall Glass aquarium. At 1300+ lbs, it was one of the heaviest we had to move into its space. A lot of gear, a lot of hands, and a lot of planning, to get this thing into its final space. Total water volume will be 750 gallons, full high tech reef. This will have its own water mixing station and automatic water changes, all set withing the tank. No fish closets necessary! Stay tuned. This adventure has only just begun. This monster of a tank is the largest GLASS tank we have ever installed. It is 12.5' x 36" x 30" tall and weights over 1200lbs. Made by master tank builders CDAfishtanks.com. This view will be my office for the next couple weeks. Stay tuned for more pics.
Photo dump of today's shenanigans. 12 ft x 36 x 31 Glass tank. One of the heaviest ones we have done so far. Tank made my CDAfishtanks.com.
Mission Local, a San Francisco Bay area based news organization decided to feature on us. Take a gander if you will. I speak about the modest beginnings of Ocean Treasures and how I started in a Mad Max style cargo container. https://missionlocal.org/2024/01/people-we-meet-creating-beauty-in-a-world-of-ugliness-one-aquarium-at-a-time/?fbclid=IwAR0RdWVTRtbWhysgN4TkBxcJziKZLkTRDl4wao5gOKxf9MOzaYLqHPkO69M
Daniel Pon works in a warehouse filled with power tools, vans loaded with saltwater jugs and fish tanks glowing blue under fluorescent bulbs.
It is unfortunate that I have to report that Ocean Treasures's warehouse in San Francisco last night was broken into. 2 service vehicles, tools and personal items were stolen. This is pretty devastating and I am in the thick of it trying to do all the right things. My first priority is to ensure my employees have all the tools to continue with service starting this monday. We are still waiting for the police to arrive to make a report. Its been 8 hours since I called them. In the meantime, Id like to ask the community to keep an eye out for our service van. It is a 2016 Nissan Nv200. It has our logo and information on it. If you see it around the Bay Area, please call or text 415-8473666.
One thing Re**ers are, they are resourceful and resilient. It is a necessary skill in this hobby. Fortunately, I am both and am confident we can navigate through this.
We are deep in the tannins and the wood still floats, but this tank is starting to look good!
Sharing a video that our buddies made of our 350g L-Shaped reef build. More to come soon.

"Go big or go home" is the motto for 2023. This 180g tank is actually just a water mixing station and will go under the actual tank! 700g ultra custom reef coming soon.
Finished this 200 gallon last week and it has everything you need to support a reef. Looking forward to seeing this one evolve!

Not all tanks need to be custom to be badass. This Redsea Re**er was built for a client 8 yrs ago and has been in our care since.

During the Height of Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020, we were contacted by Tony's Galley in Santa Rosa to build a massive 600g Aquarium to be the centerpiece of a new restaurant. With the world showing its ugly side, what better response than to create something beautiful.

Re-aquascaped this 700g tank. What does that entail? Draining everything into containers, keeping the livestock alive, remove 500 lbs of old rock, remove 750 lbs of dirty sand, add new sand, aquascape with 2 pallets of new rock from @caribseainc , refill the tank, add livestock back in, and then sleep for a day. This was a big job for the Ocean Treasures Crew. All done in one day. Now to fill it up with corals. . . . #monsteraquarium #oceantreasuresservicing #oceantreasures #customaquarium #aquarium #aquariumhobby #fishtank #reeftank #reef #allmymoneygoestocorals #saltwater #luxuryaquariun #corals #livecorals

We have been doing some major work on this 700g system. Originally made as a fish only system, we have been slowly adding the life support and automation needed to be a full reef. We have tripled the filtration capacity, added a dosing system, UV, a refugium, created more intelligent flow, semi automated water changes, and added an Apex Pro controller. Next on the list, we will be fully Re-scaping the entire system. How do you re-scape a running 700g system? Stay tuned for pics soon.
Our client sent us a sneak peak of what their 400g freshwater tank looks like after the contractor finished skinning the wall. This was originally a fireplace that was removed and replaced with a corner trapezoid tank. This tank gets automatic water changes and is primarily an Amazonian Discus tank! . . . #oceantreasuresservicig #customaquarium #monsteraquarium #discus #discusfishtank #discusfish #freshwateraquarium #freshwater #aquarium #fishtank #fish #luxiryaquarium

Here at Ocean Treasures, we like challenges and to push the boundaries of aquariums. Before I took on Ocean Treasures as a business I spent years attempting to raise and then successfully bred another species of cuttlefish, sepia Bandensis, making these aqua cultured cephalopods a reality. It is my hope to repeat this success with these guys. The flamboyant cuttlefish. With respect to this rare and beautiful animal I turned down the opportunity to keep one for years unless a group large enough to attempt breeding manifested. 10 years later, the opportunity presented itself. If anything I plan to journal the entire project to provide the experience to assist future cephalopod trailblazers. You can preview my orignal artical on sepia bandensis care at http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-10/feature/index.php
