Get your tissues, we have another heartwarming 🥲 Thanks to Delia for sharing Hoth’s (formerly Cyrus) story 💙
After unexpectedly losing their sweet husky, Wampa, in May 2024, Delia and her husband weren’t sure about adopting again. “We met a couple, adoptions fell through...maybe we weren’t meant to have another fur baby”, says Delia. One day while scrolling social media, a photo caught her eye. “I knew immediately that doggo was meant for us. It was Cyrus. He had some similarities to Wampa, it’s probably what caught my eye. But he was different.” Though hesitant (and with a vacation coming up), they couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Two weeks later, Cyrus was still available! They rushed to meet him. “Our first meeting was uncomfortable. I didn’y know how we would react. Would we know he was the one? We waited patiently in the meeting area and Cyrus ran in. It took him some time to greet us. When he did, he placed his head on my lap and I knew immediately he was ours. He knew what he was doing.”
Cyrus went home that day and was renamed Hoth. “We brought Hoth home and like with anything new, we felt stress. We wanted to make sure Hoth knew this was his home. That night he jumped into bed with us. He knew, we knew, our home was once again complete.”
Now, three months in, Hoth is thriving—playing ball, meeting family (human and furry), cheering on the Dodgers…he even did great on a trip to Temecula. “Everyone loves him, he is such a sweet boy. There’s no doubt Wampa paw picked Hoth for us.”
