⏪ 2024 Foster Rewind: Blossom 🌸

Blossom and her siblings (you'll be reintroduced to them in the next few posts) were actually not meant to be fostered by me 😅 They were actually supposed to be fostered by a new foster who realized in time that they were not ready to take on the responsibility of fostering. Luckily, I'm always down for more kittens and I had the space so I was able to accommodate these guys!

Blossom was a spicy little kitten who had the habit of slipping through the door of the playpen in order to get some time away from her brothers (I honestly think she was also fascinated by Nemo). It surprised me that she decided to show off her snuggly side to her new mom and dad which happened to be the way she won over their hearts 💕

Blossom is now named Ramona which I think just fits her personality just right (Ramona and Beezus anyone? 😂)

⏪ 2024 Foster Rewind: Penny 🪙

Pretty Penny was the last of my Lucky litter to get adopted and I was so happy she didn't have to wait too long. I don't know if it's just me but while I'm excited about every adoption, I'm extra excited when black kitties get chosen because they often get passed over. However, I do know Penny with her fabulous personality would never let anyone ignore her 😂 Fun, sweet, and really easy going (according to her mom, she even likes wearing clothes!), I knew she would find a family in no time.

Penny's mom bestowed her with an elegantly gothic name: Lestat Raven 🖤 And she has a feline sibling that just happens to be another Mini Cat Town graduate!

⏪ 2024 Foster Rewind: Clover 🍀

This guy had the cutest white eyebrows I've ever seen! 🤍 It was one of the ways I learned to distinguish him from his brother so I could remove those collars from them after a week or so. As a baby, he also had the most pantherish face out of his siblings although as he grew older, it became standard issue cat face 😂

Clover was a snuggler and his favorite place was somewhere close to me. He often has competition from his siblings and Charm but managed to hold his position on my lap by burrowing down as far as he could. Which made me laugh whenever he happened to burrow so far he burrowed out from under my legs 😂

Clover was happily adopted with another black kitty, Pango, and I love the fact that he has a black kitty sibling!

Bamboo was part of the Lucky black kitty trio that welcomed Charm into the family! Bambooboo (as I called him) was just a bit mischievous and just a lot of sweetness. His favorite "trick" was to escape from the playpen by jumping out...a typically difficult feat for maybe 80% of my foster kittens due to the high walls 😂 It's a good thing he was just so sweet! His favorite thing was belly rubs and he would lie there so contentedly as he received them 💜

Bamboo was adopted by a young couple with a canine sibling ready to make friends ☺️

⏪ 2024 Foster Rewind: Charm ✨

Charm was Lucky's brother and after Lucky passed, it broke my heart to see Charm all alone. As he grew and became more aware of surroundings, he would often cry because he hated being left alone. I'd see him sitting there not really moving around much until I would come over to feed him. But not to worry...

When the opportunity came up to pair Charm with a similarly aged litter of kittens, I jumped at the chance! After a quarantine period, Charm joined his new friends and was so excited to have buddies to play with which helped with his socialization 💚 The last video was from the first day I introduced Charm to the rest of the "Lucky" litter and they grew up together which made me so happy.

Charm's life became ever more charmed when he was adopted by a family who met him while he and his friends were being kittensat. He is now named Tohru and is much loved 💕

⏪ 2024 rewind: Lucky ✨

Part of my first foster litter of the year, Lucky was a neonate when he arrived home with me. Neonates are the most delicate stage of life for kittens; even if you do everything right as a foster, they still may have congenital disorders and contract diseases. Strong with a loud cry during mealtimes I had high hopes for Lucky but after a week in my care, he started fading...

I went through typical Mini Cat Town protocols to help him fight but on a quiet morning, he passed away. Towards the end, I had to separate him with a barrier to protect his brother but when I found him passed away, his brother had climbed over the barrier to snuggle next to him and give him comfort in his last moments.

I never forget any of my foster kittens who have passed away. I can remember them all. Lucky joins a beautiful group who didn't get the chance to grow up here on earth but are now (in my mind) fully grown, healthy, and happy across the rainbow bridge 🌈

Rest in peace Lucky, I will always remember you 🧡

Tam (I also call him TamTam, Tammy, Tamarind) 🤍

The cutest memory I have of this sweet boy is of him calling out to me as he walked around my house. Once he spotted me, he stopped and waited until I made eye contact and called him over. At which point he ran over, (tail wagging back and forth) to leap up onto my lap. Super sweet! 😊

Happy adoption day to Kit and Kat! 💞 These two girls first met their forever family at the last SJ Made event and the daughter of the family fell for Kit really hard!

But they knew Kit needed a friend... Unfortunately another MCT kitten they were interested in was adopted. This then became Kat's chance to get a forever home with her sister! Kat won them over and I'm overjoyed they were able to stay together 😊

They will have a feline big brother, Meadow, who will be joining them at their new home next week! Meadow is an older kitten who has been waiting at Mini Cat Town Great Mall for his forever home as well so I'm so happy for him! Can't believe this was a triple adoption!

It's been a very fun nearly 3 months (!) of fostering and I'm going to miss all of them! The last litter of the year is always the toughest to say goodbye to because I know it's going to be a few months before I start fostering again.

Tim is recovering well from his neuter surgery! He had some bleeding from his neuter site that made me nervous because in the 4 years I've fostered his was the first case with actual bleeding 😅 Just goes to show that it doesn't matter how long you foster, there are still surprises 🙀

He will be heading to Mini Cat Town tomorrow with his brother and friends. I really hope someone falls in love with him, he has a lot of affection to give! 💜

Kit and Kat 💞

People ask all the time whether my kittens are bonded with each other and therefore need to be adopted together. And it's really hard to say! In a home environment, they really only have each other to play and hang out with. In a big adoption floor setting, they have more friends they can choose to spend time with. So truly bonded pairs who never leave each other's side in my experience are rare. I find my kittens have no problems making friends with other kitties.

Ultimately all I want for my foster kittens is that they go to a good home with people who will adore them and give them all the attention and care they need. Bonus points if they will have a feline friend! 😺

Kat 🧡 My crazy shoulder parrot kitten 🦜

It's hard to believe that tomorrow I will be saying goodbye to Kat and her friends! I put together their adoption gift bags and am soaking up the last at-home moments I'll have with them. Of course I will visit them at but I'll also be leaving for a week so maybe some or all of them will be adopted by the time I get back 🤞

Surprise! 😱 I picked up five 3-week old babies today who came through one of our rescue partners and apparently were from Tahoe! I won't deny it: I love spoiling my cats 😅 I'm always looking for the next best thing to improve their lives and make sure they're healthy and happy 🌼 I've been searching for a while now for the perfect water fountain for my resident cats! Charm is doing well 🤞 He's been eating steadily and gaining weight and is currently about 270g. Because of Lucky, I'm anxiously monitoring Charm for any signs of illness but so far he's been good 🙏 He seems to miss his brother, he seemed confused when I placed him back in by himself after cleaning and replacing the bedding early this morning. For a while, he was sniffing around and around like he was trying to find Lucky. I gave him a plushie to cuddle up to and I try to spend a few minutes here and there between feedings to pet him because I'm sure he feels a little lonely! I'm hopeful that when he gets bigger and has his first vaccination, he may be able to join another single kitty who needs a friend. I'm debating on renaming Charm.
