The big and lil girls inspected the recent blanket donations and were very pleased to say the least..

Foster Notes: I just took her to a Vet at VCA Animal Clinic and was told she has a heart murmur (Grade 4). We did parvo test and it was negative. She's also been dewormed. I was told she was 3 months old, I believe she is an American Bully

Laszlo has been with us since all the way back in May. We think he’s finally ready to find his forever home.

His training is going great. He’s been working on getting use to new places and people. We think he would do best in a home with other dogs and someone who is willing to keep up with his training(socializing and basic obedience).

Over the last week, we’ve been getting a lot of calls about a pair of dogs who are currently living in a van. Their owner is willing to surrender one of the dogs. Unfortunately, because she does not get along with other dogs, we could not take her in at the moment. Anybody who would be willing to take her and would be saving her from a very bad situation. Male Shepard was found on Kammerer and Jackson Ave at around 8 pm last night. Finder is going to surrender to the San Jose Animal Care Center. We will update the post with an animal ID number asap.

Tootsie is everything…
Now that our new big gurl is starting to feel better she’s also starting to come out of her shell. All she wants to do is snug. Not a mean bone in her body. Whoever gets this girl will be winning the dog lottery. After she finishes her meds and has a follow up appointment we’ll start accepting applications. Stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE: Foster secured by finder

FOSTER NEEDED FOR MOM AND PUPPIES

This mamma pug/chihuahua and her 4 puppies were found yesterday. We need to find a safe place for mom to nurse while we figure her situation out. The shelter is currently full and cannot take them. We just pulled a dog yesterday with a respiratory issue who we need to quarantine. It wouldn’t be safe for us to bring in a mom and puppies.

WE NEED A FOSTER. We will provide supplies for anyone willing to foster and cover any necessary vet visits. Of course, the foster will have the first option to adopt mom or any of the puppies if an owner doesn’t come forward. These are very small puppies and will not need a lot of space. We will provide a playpen to keep them secure, as well as p*e pads, food for mom, toys and anything else they need.

“I wouldn’t say she’s aggressive, she’s actually the opposite. She’s very scared and skittish. That is the cause of her anxiety and reactive behavior. She gets scared and just reacts. When new people come, she’ll bark at their feet and i tell people just to ignore her. When she’s calmer, if you hold out your hand to let her smell you, she’ll just come and lay next to your feet to get pets. She bit my daughter once when my daughter tried to uncover her from her blankets when she was in bed”

Meet Sky and Chimuelo.
Sky (lighter color) is the mother. She’s about five years old, spayed, and up to date on shots.
Chimuelo, her son is about four years old, neutered, and up to date on shots.
They have a story.  They were owned by a family with kids and kept in a small run beside their house. Other than providing food and water, the family had no interaction with them and very seldom took them out of their pen.
A few years ago, a neighbor and I took pity on them and, with the family’s approval, began taking them out to the dog park and for walks multiple times per week.
Fast forward a couple years. I now own them, supply their food and medical care as well as taking them on outings at least five days per week. 
Sadly, I’m not able to bring them home and they continue to live at their former owners.
My wife and I are part of a feral cat rescue group so our small house is always full of cats, both personal and fosters.  Sky and Chimuelo would not be good with cats nor would the cats be good with them.
They are in dire need of a REAL home with loving owners who would make them part of their family. They are sweet, loving, energetic kids that just need a chance at a NORMAL life.

Yesterday was a busy day for stray puppies. While we were figuring out how to properly handle our cocker spaniel puppy situation, this little guy was found in Fremont by the ISE Labs. Apparently he had been there for at least a few days. Male, spaniel looking dog, less than 6 months old. He’s currently at the San Jose Animal Care Center on a 72 hour stray hold. Very sweet according to the finder. Super handsome. If no owner comes forward he will be available to adopt through on Sunday or Monday.

2nd UPDATE: Lil guy was adopted first thing yesterday. Yay!

UPDATE: after consulting with the San Jose Animal, Care Center, I found out that somebody attempted to surrender this dog to their shelter yesterday evening. Unfortunately, since they said, the the dog was found in Hellyer park, San Jose was unable to take him. Hellyer park is county which means the dog needed to be surrendered to the Santa Clara county animal shelter in San Martin. I took him there today. He will be on stray hold until Monday, August 5. If no owner comes forward at that point, he will be available for adoption. I let them know that if he isn’t already reserved on Monday, that we will pick him up. But based on how cute he is, I would assume that won’t be the case. Anybody interested in adopting him can go to the Santa Clara County animal shelter in San Martin and put their name/number down to adopt when his stray hold ends on the 5th.

FOUND DOG:

Found near Tully and Curtner(The Plant) last night(7/31) around 8pm. Male, cocker spaniel puppy. I’m guessing around 3 months old. Still very much has baby teeth. Cherry eye on the right side.

This week we were invited down to the City of San Jose Animal Care & Services to meet some adoptable pups. We focused our energy on dogs that might not get the luxe. They deserve while at the shelter. For one reason or another these dogs require extra care, but we know they can fit in perfectly to somebody’s family.

Special thanks to Kellie Benz and the entire staff at SJACC for taking time out on a Sunday to introduce us to these awesome dogs. They always go the extra mile for the animals in their care.
