We are less than a month away from our Clear the Shelter event hosted by our friends at NBC Bay Area and Telemundo! 🎉🙌🏻

All adoption fees are WAIVED! There will be food by Tacos el Chore, Chick N' Bros, and Kona Island Coffee! 🤤

There will also be local small businesses vendors selling various goods, a live DJ, a photo booth, face painting, fun activities, and MORE! 🎈🎨📸

Our shelter is bursting at the seams with adoptable pets! We are beyond 100% full on dogs with no open kennels for incoming dogs!

Tomorrow we are having a free adoption event for all pets! We have more than 150 pets available to be adopted!

Available for adoption is Bear, a friendly and well-behaved dog who is seeking a loving family that can provide him with the attention and care he deserves. Bear has been a cherished member of our family for several years, but it is time for him to find a family that has more time for an individual dog. (We have too many!)

Bear possesses all the essential obedience skills, including sit, down, bed, heel, come, and here, and he is crate-trained, making him a well-behaved companion. He also adapts well to car travel, remaining calm and comfortable inside his crate during both short and long road trips.

Bear has demonstrated excellent socialization skills, interacting positively with children ranging from 10 months to 6 years old, as well as cats and chickens, when supervised. However, it is important to note that he has recently displayed resource guarding behavior around food with other dogs. To ensure a harmonious living environment, we believe it would be best for Bear to be placed in a home without other canine companions.

We are actively seeking a suitable and loving home for Bear, where he can receive the attention, care, and companionship he deserves. Kenji is looking for a permanent home to call his own!

PROS: Kenji is a fun-loving little dude who is eager to learn. He has insane food drive, which makes him fun to train. He is obnoxious and over-the-top with my cats but NOT aggressive. He has been great with my kids and every person he meets.

He rides well in a vehicle (have been on out of state roadtrip) and does well in a crate (whether for travel, bedtime, or when not monitored throughout the day).

THE ONE CON: He resource guards his food and water from other dogs (not humans). This is an easily managed behavior. He eats in his crate or pen away from others and is giving water access when out on his own throughout the day.

💥💥💥 PET SAFETY ALERT 💥💥💥

The July 4th holiday is upon us, please be extra vigilant with your pets and NOT just on the night of the 4th💥.

Fireworks will be prevalent BEFORE and AFTER the 4th. Illegal fireworks have unfortunately already started and we have had a number of dogs in our community escape their homes.

Fireworks can be very scary for ALL animals 💥Now is the time to check your fences and gates and if you have pets that become traumatized by loud noises, come up with a plan.

Hopefully your pets are MICROCHIPPED (if not, you still have time to do this) with current contact information and make sure they are wearing collars with an ID tag.

More pets go missing on July 4th every year than any other day of the year.

PLEASE, please keep your pets safe and keep them INSIDE!
