Handsome Timber (ID ) had an amazing day on his last Tails & Trails adventure. Timber and his had a great time together, check it out!

"Today I went to Marshall Cottle Park and walked three miles. First my walkers walked me around the parking lot so I could go to the bathroom. I was lifted into the Toyota Four Runner and then I relaxed the entire ride just laying down on a bed that they had for me. At the park, I sniffed a lot at first and then I had a nice pace walk. I am a senior and I am overweight, but my walkers kept saying how good I was walking!"

Here is what Timber's adventure buddy had to say about him:

"Timber is a loose leash walker, non-reactive, gentle treat taker and a REALLY GOOD OLD DOG! He is gentle, kind, sweet and I believe could fit right into your household…young or old. He is overweight so a morning and later walk would be wonderful for him. He always stays close to your side!

Three words to describe Timber would be gentle, friendly, and polite.

If you are interested in 10-year-old Timber, stop by our shelter located at 2750 Monterey Road in San José to meet him. We know he can't wait to finally meet his ."

Our had a great time today at the for Bring Your Child to Work Day!

Moo Deng (ID ), Limoncello (ID ), and Tiger (ID ) loved their day away from the shelter. They met lots of people, got lots of treats, and enjoyed the fresh air. Moo and Limoncello did especially well with all the action and were so great with the kids!

Moo loved all the pets and attention. Limoncello sure appreciated all the treats and walks. Tiger did well too but all he wanted to do was play with the other dogs, he is a typical six-month-old puppy with lots of .

Sweet and Shy Molly (ID ) really came out of her shell on her most recent Tails & Trails adventure. This is why we love this program because we get to see dogs like Molly thrive outside of the shelter. Check it out:

"I took a long walk along the Guadalupe River Trail with my friend. I sniffed so many interesting scents and had some amazing new experiences. I even got to ride in a car. There were beautiful flowers everywhere, and I saw lots of ducks, geese, and birds—everything was just so wonderful!

At first, I felt a little unsure about other people on the trail, but my friend encouraged me. I realized everyone was friendly, and there was nothing to be scared of! That made me feel much better, and I became way more confident on the leash after that.

My friend said I’m a very smart and good girl. I got a yummy pup cup, and then I took a nice nap on the way back. What a fantastic day!"

Here is what adopters should know about Molly:

Molly is such a sweet and gentle pup, though she can be a bit shy at first with new people. At first, she was unsure about the other people on the trail, but she quickly figured out what we were doing. She kept a loose leash and checked in with me often. When we moved to the busier park, she still did great, walking calmly on a loose leash. I’m so proud of her!

I know she regularly participates in doggy playgroups and is very social with other dogs. (In fact, I feel she shines in doggy playgroups!) It was no surprise to see her wanting to sniff and make friends with the dogs at the park. She didn’t react to walkers, joggers, bikes, or even squirrels and geese during our outing as well.

Molly is a true sweetheart who deserves a loving home. Just give her a little patience, and she’ll return it with all her love!"

If you are interested in Molly, stop by our shelter located at 2750 Monterey Road in San José to meet her.

Isn't Moo Deng (ID ) the handsomest little you have ever seen? Well, not only is he handsome but he is incredibly sweet! This sweet guy came to our shelter last week needing lots of help.

Moo was brought into our shelter by a member of the public who says they found him in the back of their truck after going inside a gas station to pay for gas. We are suspecting someone just dumped him there because Moo has deformities in his legs and could not get up there all by himself.

Once Moo Deng came in, our determined that his leg deformities are in both his front and back legs. Unfortunately, he came in with sores on his paws from dragging them and has very limited mobility. Because of all this Moo is looking for rescue or a special needs adopter.

Please enjoy these photos of Moo getting his first (much-needed) bath at our shelter, Moo loving his rides in a , and him checking out his .

Moo Deng is such a sweet guy who just needs his special someone. If you are interested in Moo, reach out to [email protected]

Lil Brent (ID ) had an amazing Tails & Trails Adventure a few weeks ago. Lil Brent and his are super excited to tell you all about it.

“Today, I went to the park with a new friend, and I was so happy to head out! After a quick potty break in the parking lot, I hopped right into the backseat of her car and settled in for our adventure.

This park had so many exciting things—lots of scents, birds, squirrels, a duck, bikers, joggers, walkers, trucks, cars, and doggo friends of all sizes. We politely greeted everything from a distance, and my friend praised me for being such a good boy! My two favorite things on this trip were sniffing and rolling around in the grass!”

Here is was Lil Brent’s adventure buddy had to say about their day together:

“Lil Brent is an affectionate and happy boy. When I put on his harness and collar, he gets so excited and tries to give me kisses—though they sometimes turn into little head-butts!

He’s great on car rides to Jeffrey Fontana Park, hopping in and out of the car without any help and staying relaxed the entire time.

He pulls slightly on the leash at first, but as we continue our walk, he settles into a nice loose-leash pace and frequently checks in with his handler. He’s very observant of his surroundings and can get distracted by noises like birds chirping, trucks, cars, or barking from other dogs. Once he figures out what the sound is, he easily refocuses on the walk.

He only pays attention to other dogs when they’re within close range, and a simple redirection like “This way” is all it takes to get him moving again.

Lil Brent won’t hesitate to offer kisses and ask for pets. He also loves treats and will happily show off his agility to earn one from you.

If this sounds like the companion you’ve been looking for, come meet Lil Brent—you just might fall in love!”

Lil Brent is available for adoption at our shelter located at 2750 Monterey Road in San José. He can't wait to meet you!
