🐄🔍 Cattle foot problems can be a serious concern, but our special turn table chute allows us to get the cattle off their feet and take a close look at what might be causing the issue. This innovative equipment helps us diagnose and treat foot problems efficiently and effectively.
For example, a cow came in limping, and the farmer wasn't sure why. Using the turn table chute, we were able to thoroughly examine her and discovered she had an abscess that needed to be drained. Thanks to this close examination, we could provide the necessary treatment to alleviate her pain and prevent further complications.

🐾❤️ Brownie loved being held by Katalina during his puppy exam, vaccines, and nail trim! Ensuring our puppies get their vaccinations is essential for their health and wellbeing. Here's why puppy vaccines are so important:
**Distemper**: This highly contagious viral disease affects a dog's respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems. Symptoms include fever, nasal discharge, coughing, lethargy, and seizures. Vaccination is crucial to protect your puppy from this potentially fatal disease.
**Parvo**: Canine parvovirus is another serious and contagious viral illness that primarily affects the gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms include severe vomiting, diarrhea (often bloody), loss of appetite, and dehydration. Parvo can be deadly, especially in puppies, but vaccination can prevent it.
Regular vaccinations help build your puppy's immunity and protect them from these and other dangerous diseases. Keeping our furry friends healthy from the start ensures they grow into happy, healthy dogs! To make your puppy's first appointment, click here//bit.ly/3Tp1ORN
🐔💚 Dr. George helped Nugget the chicken feel better today! Nugget was egg bound, which means she had difficulty laying an egg. This can happen when an egg gets stuck inside a hen, and it can be very uncomfortable and dangerous for our feathered friends.
Being egg bound can be caused by several factors, such as a lack of calcium, being overweight, or an egg that is too large. Symptoms to watch for include straining, lethargy, and a swollen abdomen.
One effective way to help an egg-bound chicken is to soak her in warm water. This can help relax her muscles and make it easier for her to pass the egg. If you ever notice these symptoms in your chickens, it's essential to seek veterinary care promptly.
We're glad to see Nugget on the road to recovery! 🐣💛

🐾 Meet Lil Girl, our adorable furry friend who recently paid a visit for her wellness panel! 🌟 Sometimes, our pets just need a little extra love and reassurance during these appointments, and that's exactly what Lil Girl got. ❤️
🔬 But what exactly is a wellness panel, you ask? 🤔 It's a comprehensive set of tests that provide valuable insights into your pet's health. It includes wellness bloodwork to ensure their internal organs are functioning as they should, a heartworm test to detect any potential heartworm infection, and an intestinal parasite screening to keep those pesky critters at bay. 🩺💉
✨ Why is this important, you wonder? Well, it's a proactive approach to your pet's well-being. By catching any issues early on, we can address them swiftly before they escalate into bigger problems. Prevention is key when it comes to keeping our furry companions happy and healthy! 🐶💪
So, here's to Lil Girl and all the responsible pet parents out there who prioritize their fur baby's health!

🚨 Important Announcement for Pet Owners! 🚨
Let's dive into the world of tick-borne diseases: Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, and Lyme. Lady recently tested positive for both Anaplasma and Ehrlichia, and it's crucial to understand what these diseases are and the symptoms they can cause in our furry companions.
🔍 Anaplasma**: This bacterial infection, transmitted by ticks, can lead to symptoms like fever, lethargy, joint pain, and decreased appetite in dogs.
🔍 Ehrlichia**: Another tick-borne illness, Ehrlichia infects white blood cells and can manifest as fever, lethargy, loss of appetite, swollen lymph nodes, and in severe cases, bleeding disorders.
🔍 Lyme Disease**: Caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, transmitted through tick bites, Lyme disease can result in fever, lameness, joint swelling, lethargy, and decreased appetite.
In the photos, you can observe the presence of Anaplasma and Ehrlichia in Lady's blood smear. Early detection through comprehensive testing is vital for prompt treatment and management of these diseases.
Our clinic's heartworm test not only screens for heartworms but also includes these three tick-borne diseases: Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma. It's part of our commitment to keeping your pets healthy and protected!
Stay proactive by checking your pets for ticks regularly, especially during tick season, giving flea & tick prevention pills and consult with your veterinarian if you notice any concerning symptoms or if you have questions about tick-borne diseases.

Ticks, Ticks, and more Ticks!
As the weather warms up, it's essential to talk about a not-so-friendly visitor: ticks! The ticks you see pictures were found all on ONE PET! These pesky parasites can pose serious health risks to our furry friends, but the good news is, there are steps we can take to prevent them.
Here are some tips to keep your dogs and cats tick-free:
1️⃣ Regular Check-ups: Make it a habit to thoroughly check your pets for ticks after outdoor adventures, especially in areas with tall grass or wooded areas.
2️⃣ Tick Prevention Products: Talk to your veterinarian about the best tick prevention products for your pets. There are many options available, including topical treatments, collars, and oral medications.
3️⃣ Tick Habitats: Keep your yard tidy by mowing the lawn regularly and removing any debris where ticks might hide. Consider creating a tick-safe zone with gravel or wood chips between your lawn and wooded areas.
4️⃣ Outdoor Awareness: Avoid walking your pets in areas known to be heavily infested with ticks, such as tall grassy fields or heavily wooded areas.
5️⃣ Grooming: Regular grooming sessions can help you spot and remove ticks before they have a chance to attach and transmit diseases.
Remember, prevention is key when it comes to ticks! By staying vigilant and taking proactive measures, we can keep our beloved pets safe and healthy all year round. 🐾❤️
🔍 Dr. Jason is hard at work today, using ultrasound to locate a patient's bladder for a urine sample collection via cystocentesis! 🐾✨
Ever wondered why we collect urine samples from our furry friends? It's all for a crucial diagnostic test called a urinalysis. This test helps us assess your pet's kidney function, detect urinary tract infections, and even uncover signs of underlying health issues.
At our clinic, we're committed to providing thorough and comprehensive care for your pets, and that includes utilizing advanced techniques like ultrasound-guided procedures to ensure accurate and efficient diagnostics.
So, next time you see Dr. Jason or any of our skilled veterinarians in action, know that they're working tirelessly to keep your furry companions healthy and happy! Heartworm prevention isn't just a recommendation—it's a MUST for our furry friends! 💔🐶
Check out this eye-opening video showing microfilaria, the tiny heartworm larvae, which can develop into a major threat to our dogs' health. 😱
Why is heartworm prevention so crucial? Let me break it down:
1️⃣ **Heartworm Disease**: These pesky parasites, transmitted through mosquito bites, can wreak havoc on a dog's heart and lungs, leading to severe health issues and even death if left untreated.
2️⃣ **Costly Treatment**: Treating heartworm disease is not only emotionally draining but also financially burdensome. Prevention is far less expensive than the extensive treatment required to rid a dog of heartworms.
3️⃣ **Pain and Discomfort**: Infected dogs may suffer from coughing, fatigue, weight loss, and difficulty breathing. It's heartbreaking to watch our beloved pets endure such pain.
4️⃣ **Long-term Health Effects**: Even if successfully treated, heartworm disease can leave lasting damage to a dog's organs, impacting their quality of life.
5️⃣ **Preventive Measures are Simple**: Thankfully, preventing heartworms is relatively easy with regular medication prescribed by your vet. A simple monthly pill or topical treatment can keep your furry friend safe.
Let's prioritize our pups' health and well-being by staying vigilant with heartworm prevention! ❤️

It’s coming to be that time of year again! The much anticipated 4th of July! Great celebrations, fireworks, barbecues, you name it! But…some pets may dread this time of year. It can be a source of fear and anxiety. Katalina tells us how we can create a “safe space” for our more anxious pets. Research shows cats prefer the color purple to soothe them, dogs prefer green. Also, reinforcing anxious behavior by holding your pet can be counterproductive, instead, have your pet sit next to you or place them in their safe space. If you have an anxious pet and need help managing their anxiety, please give us a call!

Does this video give you the creepy crawlies?! It's lice! Dr. Jason took this video on a cow he was working with. But don't worry! The lice people get is not the same as the lice on livestock. It is very common for livestock such as cattle to have lice, that is why we recommend processing your cattle regularly and pouring them with Dectomax Pour on to protect them from these little parasites, especially in the winter. Lice can cause irritation and itchiness which can result in hair loss and overall body condition can be affected. To learn more about our cattle services, click here: https://bit.ly/3hrDIIU
