Hi everyone! Just wanted to write a quick post to remind my local OC neighbors that I am offering structured walks as well as 1 on 1 leash training. This is Obi a sweet goldendoodle that lives in my neighborhood and that I have been doing some structured walking and leash training with. Typically, I can fix a dog's walking within about 5-10 minutes. The first time I walked him on a normal leash and flat buckle collar. He was fine with both. I just prefer slip leads for safety purposes. Dog's can't get out of them if they have proper lockers and are used correctly. Another adventure with "Taro". We went to laguna beach today and walked around. Working on structured walking/leash skills, calm greetings (everyone wanted to meet and pet him) and of course general neutrality/impulse control. He did wonderful!

Teaching your dog structured play through impulse control is a great way to control their drive and to build their confidence. Here is "Taro" and I working on some structured play at the park. He's doing great with this already. Structured play is a phenomenal way of tiring your dog out quickly by engaging their mind and body. The mind is of course the most important aspect. Teaching them to engage their drive and then shut it down is exponentially helpful in all life situations.

We have big news!!!!! We have recently moved to *drum roll* ..... orange county! We will still be serving our neighbors in San Diego so please don't fret. Keep on referring us and we will keep coming to the homes of any dog and family in need, no matter where they're located.

Big things are in store in the next few months. Keep an eye out so you can watch us grow!

Just a reminder for the festivities...

Happy new year every one! It has been a phenomenal year working with the community and changing lives for the better with their companion dogs. I just wanted to add a little PSA.

If your dog isn't crate trained - make a place for them with lots of cushy blankets in a closet or other enclosed area so that they have a safe place.

Also, walk them around in the house on leash doing frequent stops, turns and sits. This will engage their mind and tire them both mentally and physically.

Having them on leash will also help to keep them from panicking. When a dog has too much space to control it makes them anxious. If they aren't on leash they could hurt themselves from panicking. It's best to keep them as calm as possible and in a small space.

Also white noise like a TV or stereo helps immensely.

The most important thing though is getting them to be mentally tired prior to the festivities.

Sorry I've been so quiet as of late. I've been helping owners to create harmony in their home and working on my movement.

Just wanted to post a video from the Costa Mesa Barktoberfest that I was a vendor at recently.

Thankful to have my BFF Tina and her new pup Ragnar with me at the event. Ragnar was my demo dog for the day to teach others how important and effective place training and decompression is. He was a Rockstar! Hundreds of dogs and people were there and he just watched and slept. Balanced dogs make life easy.

Can your 6 month old puppy do this? If not and you'd like them to be able to, reach out and we can make it happen. It's reviews like this that make it all worthwhile. Keeping dogs in their homes and helping their owners have a better understanding of what they need and what they don't. There have been so many children/family members that have been bit by their family dog and then the dog is just rehomed, relinquished or euthanized - it breaks my heart. I am so happy to be able to help the owners that are on a last ditch effort to keep their pups in their homes. This family did a phenomenal job working through the issues at hand by giving their dog structure and boundaries and helping her through her anxiety by giving her a job. I'm so proud of them!

Help me in this journey to keep dogs in their homes and work through their behavioral problems. Send anyone you know my way so that we can stop dogs from being surrendered and sadly even euthanized for behavioral problems that aren't the dog's fault.

Another review from a dog that I was called out to help with reactivity. This is my number one call and believe it or not - reactivity starts with the owner. I train more people than I do dogs. My goal is to teach you how to relax and have better communication with your dog so that your dog sees you as a leader and doesn't feel the need to take on perceived threats.

This owner and dog did phenomenal and got to experience an immediate change in behavior (no longer reactive) right during the lesson. This is what I specialize in. No treats. No punishment. Hi friends! Sorry I've been MIA - I've been super busy helping the communities with their dogs. Still working on my mission - to make sure no dog ends up rehomed, relinquished or euthanized for behavioral problems that are completely fixable.

Anywho, just wanted to add another customer review to the site.

I was called into this one primarily for potty-training issues but was met with a newly adopted dog that was extremely fearful. By the end of the lesson the pup was confident and calm and happy to report potty training has been a success.

I appreciate so much when clients take the time to write out a review about their experience with me. This way others know what to expect and maybe feel inclined to take the leap with their dog(s), because they see someone in a similar situation. When someone that is having difficulty with their dog sees success of another in a similar situation - it empowers them and makes them think "Hey, if they can do it, I can too".

I am here for the dogs at the end of the day. Dogs are getting the short end of the stick due to behavioral issues that they didn't create- humans did... inadvertently of course, but still it isn't the dog's fault. So I hope to stop all of the dogs from being relinquished, rehomed or euthanized for behavioral issues. Help me, help others 💕 thank you for your continued support!

I am pleased to share this message from a client. So, I just worked with this client 2 days ago and this was one of the cases where the dog was so anxious with noises and was inadvertently put into control of the home that she was constantly in a panicked state and her owners were having to revamp their life so that it didnt trigger the dog.

Prior years (the dog is older) they would use the trifecta medication cocktails and hold her and keep her lying down to try to keep her from panicking during the fireworks /festivities. And still they said it was normally terrible and so stressful.

During our lesson we introduced bomb-proofing (place training with down-stay and distractions) where we started the desensitization to noises and of course utilized the crate after properly working her and tiring her mentally. She was medication free last night and this was the method they used and the results.

I am SO PROUD of these owners because they are putting in the work and making the change. It's harder for the humans than it is the dogs in cases like this. Great job Mom and dad!
