Bay Area Pet Adoptions/SPCA Longest No-Kill Shelter in Galveston County, totally dependent on public donations to stay open. Our shelter does not euthanize for space.

We are a non-profit animal rescue, No-Kill shelter and adoption organization that relies on YOUR donations to house feed and medically care for the dogs and cats taken in our adoption program. We are not operated or funded by any national animal group and must rely on contributions from people like you to keep our shelter open. All financial contributions and in-kind donations are tax deductible.

Bay Area Pet Adoptions is continuing to expand our Working Board of Directors!

Open Call: Board Members – Volunteer Positions

Interviews starting in January 2025!

Bay Area Pet Adoptions has a passionate, all-volunteer, working Board of Directors who supports the shelter, staff and community programs. This Open Call is an ongoing effort to continue building a Board of Directors that reflects a diversity of skills, knowledge, perspectives and backgrounds.

Bay Area Pet Adoptions is a non-profit, 501(c)3 no-kill shelter, pet rescue and adoption organization that relies on donations from the public to house, feed and medically care for the dogs and cats taken in our adoption program. Additionally, our community service programs, including a Pet Pantry, Vaccine and Spay/Neuter Clinic, are continuing to expand and evolve.

We are looking for motivated, independent individuals who are passionate about animals to join our working Board of Directors and are willing to be productive, assist in strengthening our community presence, strategic vision and financial stability as well as assisting in moving the shelter forward in its goals.

Bay Area Pet Adoptions is seeking potential animal-loving candidates who are dedicated and willing to put in the necessary work to make a difference.

Individuals with the below skill sets are desired but not required.
• A deep interest and passion for animal welfare and the community
• The ability to see the big picture and vision
• Candidates who will dedicate time to this position and help bring inspiration, solutions and efforts to accomplish goals set
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with the Bay Area Pet Adoptions Board of Directors and Shelter Staff, demonstrating the ability to work and take ownership of projects
• Skilled in one of the following areas would be helpful but not required: Animal Welfare, Project/Facilities Management, Legal services, Fundraising, Marketing, Graphic Design, HR, Media, Grant Writing, Business, Technology and Finance.

All are encouraged to apply.

Jericho is so much fun to watch chasing toys around the room - preferably a ball with a bell 🔔 in it!! If you have a feather wand though, be prepared to watch him jump 3ft in the air!! 🤩💕Handsome boy Henry looks like he is posing for the cover of Canine GQ magazine. He is quite pleased to have a stuffie he can retrieve and it will probably last forever since he never chews them up. What self respecting bird dog would do that? It would be a disgrace their breed! He’s a social boy and loves to be around other dogs. His wish for Christmas is a family that would like to take walks and explore, have a big yard, and would share lot’s of love with him.🐕🌲
