Reba’s past month 👆🏻

It’s been a minute since I’ve had a chance to post on here with school and everything but Reba is doing great! Hopefully getting sliders put on her soon & she’s already stopping pretty big without them, with almost no schooling on stops either. She’s also been put on Platinum CJ for her locking stifles and it’s definitely making her feel good! Very grateful to have her around and happy with how she’s been coming along ☀️

Offered for your consideration:

Aspen is a 2019 bay mare mustang born in holding, and her dam was from the Nevada Wild Horse Range HMA. Standing at 14.3/15hh, Aspen is very versatile and could truly go in any direction! Aspen stands tied, loads, bathes, hobbles, and is good for the farrier. Aspen knows how to w/t/l nicely, collect, extend, hold a frame, stop hard, spin, sidepass, rollback, shoulder in/out, haunches in/out, is soft in the face, goes through obstacles, is cowy, and is lightly patterned on barrels. Aspen has also been ridden English and jumped a handful of times, she is scopey and hasn’t refused. She is also good out on the trails and will cross water, go over logs, over bridges, move cattle, open gates, and is great with ropes/drags. She has been taken to shows, the beach, sortings, trail rides, and more. Absolutely zero buck or bolt, more woah than go. Aspen also knows how to do liberty circles, the Spanish walk, lay down from the ground or under saddle, smile, bow, sidepass, shoulder/hindquarter yields, and more. She has been ridden bridleless a lot, and she does really really well with it! She can be marish in a herd setting, but is really sweet with people. She’s always the first to meet you at the gate with a whinny, and loves having a person. Best suited for an advanced rider or intermediate with a trainer due to her age and experience. Available due to no fault of her own, this decision did not come lightly by any means and she will only go to the perfect home. I would keep her forever if I could, but am switching out of mustangs & can’t afford two through college. This mare has won 5 buckles and has taught me so so much! She has a huge goofy, sweet personality & will definitely keep you entertained! Sound barefoot, easy keeper, and UTD on everything. PPEs are welcomed at your expense. Message me for more info

So excited to introduce Reba / CP Cute N Loaded to the family 💛💚

I have been keeping an eye on this filly for the past couple months, and ended up bidding on her at the Cal Poly Performance Horse Sale yesterday! I’m looking forward to a future in reining or reined cowhorse with her, and will hopefully end up breeding her when she’s older. She has a forever home with me and I can’t wait to see what we do! It’s a big change from only mustangs for the past five years but it’s definitely a good change, and one I needed ☺️ Happy to rep the -P brand with this gal

CP Cute N Loaded is by Double Loaded Gun (Colonels Smoking Gun x KR Anniegityergun) and out of Cute n Stylish (Playin Stylish x Roosters Chicaroo)

Big thank you to for bringing her along so well and to for a great program and sale! I also want to thank my parents and supporters who have helped make all of this possible 🫶🏻

Mabel is AVAILABLE!

This filly has the all brains & beauty 🤩 Mabel has a solid foundation on the ground, and a handful of great rides under saddle! With her naturally gentle temperament, she could very easily be a kids horse down the road. She has a strong dun factor and will mature to 16hh+. This is a really special filly and I’d love for her to find a forever home. Available now through the BLM only!

Thank you Hailey Kennedy Photography

Offered for your consideration -

Mabel is a 2022 Twin Peaks dunskin filly, and will mature to 16 hands or above (currently 15.2). This mare is by far the sweetest, gentlest, and easiest horses I’ve ever worked with. She’s had lots of exposure and has been hauled off property to ropings, trails, the beach, shows, and more. Mabel is definitely is one to stand out in a crowd with her size and markings!

She has had four rides, three in a roundpen and one off property at an arena. She’s been on a mini solo trail ride around our property after one ride and she was great! She will w/t/l, stop, back up, sidepass, and is lightly started on a turnaround. Absolutely zero buck, rear, bolt, etc. She has super comfortable gaits with a big stride, and moves well.

Mabel is polite and safe on the ground, good to tie and bathe/brush, good for the farrier, loads, and stands nicely to be saddled. She is great in hand, lunges, knows her forequarter and hindquarter pivots, sidepasses towards and away from you, backs up softly, and goes through obstacles.

Mabel also does a bunch of liberty and tricks! She knows how to do liberty circles, will halt and then come to you, knows the Spanish walk, will work next to you like she’s in hand, and she also knows the lay down with a belly tapping cue.

Mabel does have a clubfoot, and did have physitis in that knee due to growing so fast. She has had light rides over a longer period of time and hasn’t been worked hard, but I think she needs more time to grow up and I can’t afford that through college. Please message me for any questions about this! X rays and vet referrals are on hand 🙂

Currently available with an approved BLM application, but she will be titled in June. This is a really special mare and I will be very picky to where she goes! She’s been my favorite horse to train (ever), and I really want the best for her future. Available due to no fault of her own. Please message me for more info! Located in San Luis Obispo CA

So proud of this mare 🤍

Aspen and I showed in Vegas this past weekend where we won w/t/l open highpoint champion! We both had our moments but for the most part she really pulled it together for me and was great! She is such a special mare to me and it was a big deal for me to have her prove herself under saddle this weekend. She was good in her classes and put up with some long days and long trailer rides! We’ve had our ups and downs, and it’s taken a while to get to this point - all of the compliments I was given from other competitors about her really meant a lot. I am hoping we can continue to improve and possibly do a bridleless freestyle next time!

Kate also came with us and did so amazing with her two mustangs! Very proud and happy for her and her stangs as well!

Thank you so much to for putting this show on and making this show happen and for setting up some great prizes! And thank you to the judges Luke Castro and Sam VanFleet

First ride for this gal in the books ✅

Mabel was really great! She hadn’t been saddled or really worked at all since the TIP Challenge, which was a while ago, all due to her knee/lameness issues. She was cleared by the vet a month ago and I decided to hop on her very randomly today 😅 it definitely could have gone a lot worse given the situation but she is such an honest and sweet horse that I really trust! And she was great! I lunged her for probably five minutes before getting on and she was super chill and mellow about it all. She was a little sticky in her feet at first, especially because of the puddles in the round pen but she figured it out with some encouragement!! So happy to have her in my little herd and so grateful for it all ☺️

Offered for your consideration -

Kevin is a 2021 quarter pony x halflinger cross standing at 13.3 hands! He is already very stocky and wide for his age, and is expected to grow some more. Kevin knows all of his groundwork, loads, saddles, bathes, stands tied, hobbles, and is great to be ponied in the arena or on trails. Under saddle he w/t/l, sidepasses, moves hips and shoulders, stops hard, backs softly, is started well on a spin, and we are currently working on collection. He rides inside or outside of the arena, goes through obstacles, and is good with ropes and dragging logs. He is very brave and good with tarps, plastic bags, goes through water, etc. He jumps and moves really cute, and could totally be a little English pony. He is very naturally gentle and quiet! He has been ridden in a snaffle and bosal, but is also very fun to ride bridleless. Kevin has a really sweet and goofy personality, and is always up for attention. He gets along really well with other horses and is playful, but is not dominant or mean. He has no spook or buck at all, but due to age he would be best suited for an intermediate to advanced owner, or someone with a trainer. He is UTD on everything, is sound barefoot, and has no lameness or health issues. Negotiable to the right home for a quick rehoming! We would really love for him to find his forever person but do need him off the feed bill. Located in San Luis Obispo, CA. Text or PM me for more info, I don’t always see comments! My number is (805) 235-1528. Many more videos and pictures are available upon request. Thank you!

Kevin is a coming 3yo quarter pony cross standing 13.3 hands. Official videos and pics to come! He is super sweet and has the best personality! Meets you at the gate and always follows me around when I’m cleaning his pen. Stands tied, hobbles, wtl under saddle, stops hard, backs up soft, started on a turnaround, no buck. Not hot but walks out very nicely when asked. Loads, hauls, saddles, bathes, etc all very well. Would be a great jr rodeo/ranch pony or hunter/jumper for a handy kid. Thick b***d, good feet, and sound barefoot. UTD on vaccines, dental, trims, etc. Not spooky at all! Due to age he would be best for an advanced rider or for someone with a trainer, he is still green. Fee flexible to the right home, would love for him to find his forever person. Located in San Luis Obispo CA. Pm me!

A short 4 years later ❤️

I never thought that driving out to Porterville for a 4yo “blue roan” mustang that I had found on Craigslist would change my life in such a huge way. Just a week over four years ago, I had saved up all the money I had earned throughout a couple years of working and bought my own horse. I worked off his board and rode him after school on a little dirt warm up arena and out on the trail. He did have quite the attitude back then - I remember having absolutely no idea how to even get him to lunge on a line on the days he wouldn’t send out. It took me four hours and a broken foot to load him for the first time into our straight load (sorry Tanner). I eventually went to a clinic taught by Mustang Matt - which made everything take off. I started getting him soft, taught him the lay down in an short two months 🤦‍♀️, and took him on so many trails around the property. The next year he helped me a bunch my 2020 EMM filly, and with many after that. I’ve seen so many people hop on him and ride back to me with the biggest smiles on their faces, and riding him today always makes me feel so proud of how far we’ve come. He got me into training and put me on the map. I know there will never be another Ranger, and I’m completely sure no other horse will be able to change my life in the ways he has. But all good things must come to an end at some point, and today was that day for Ranger & I. Unfortunately I have college coming up, and I know I won’t be able to support him along with everything else, and I know he deserves much better than what I can give him if I did keep him. Following that, I’m very happy to announce that Ranger has found the perfect forever home 🥰. He’s going to be completely spoiled by his new mom, who is absolutely in love with him. She wants me to stay involved with him, which I’m really happy about, so there will still be lots of him on this page! He will be staying with me until mid November and I’ll haul him down once her new barn is finished. There could not be a better ending for our time together than this, and I’m so so thankful for every day that I had the privilege to own him.

Thank you Ranger, more than you know ❤️

No longer just a number…

Tag #6671 is now known as Mabel! She is a dunskin/grulla yearling filly from Twin Peaks, CA and was rounded up around 5 months old. and I picked them up together yesterday, and started working with them once they settled in. Both of ours are doing well and progressing nicely! Swipe to see her spicy side in the chutes 🌶️🌶️ She’s also absolutely huge, especially for a mustang yearling! She’s at least 15 hands, she’s just as tall as Ranger who is 15.1 (see last pic). She’s very sweet and chill, just is a bit opinionated and has a big baby brain 😅

Day 2 Mabel:

-haltering
-leading
-desensitized to flag and ropes
-touching and brushing all over
-fly spray
-picks up front feet
-hindquarter yield
-back up
-bath
-ponying
-good with her head shyness
-lunging with and without a lead

She’s a really sweet girl and her personality has come out a lot today! She definitely has a sassy and opinionated side, I think that’ll be a future challenge when I take her outside of her pen. She has the attention span of a goldfish too so we will see how easily she catches onto everything 😂😂. I’m so excited to see how she turns out and to see her personality come out in the next couple months 🙂

Thanks for the loading videos!

This is my draw for the 2023 Temecula Valley TIP Challenge! This is my last year to compete as youth and I’m really excited to be competing again. My draw is a yearling grulla/dunskin filly from Twin Peaks CA who I will be rehoming after the competition. She’s super cute and I can’t wait to get her home! It’s her world we just live in it 💖✨

I took Aspen up to Creston for a l clinic at last weekend and we had a bunch of fun! It was Aspen’s first trip alone and we both learned a lot. It was nice meeting some new people and their horses as well as giving Aspen that experience. Aspen did great and I can’t wait to see what she’s like in a couple months. Thank you Roberto and India for teaching/helping with the clinic, to Kate for the pictures, and Patricia and Michael for having us!

Ranger - 2015 Titled BLM Mustang Gelding from Stone Cabin, NV

Ranger is truly a one in a million mustang, from his mind and training to his looks and personality. Ranger will really do anything you throw at him with a sweet and goofy personality and a willingness very few horses have. Ranger will stop, spin, lope circles, rollback, lead change, collect, sidepass, move haunches and shoulders in/out, etc, and is very soft in the face. Rope off of him, jump him, ride him through the ocean, or take him to a show, he will do it. And even if he doesn’t do it now, he’s very trainable and learns things quickly. He is great to ride english, western, or even ba****ck and bridleless. I have used him to halter break and start c**ts (and a pretty mean heifer), he is a no nonsense kind of guy when it comes down to work. Ranger also has lots of liberty and trick training, and will do liberty circles, smile, lay down, and rear (cue from the ground only). He is good to bathe, load, clip, shoe, saddle, etc. He’s a gentleman on the ground and is great for people of all experience levels to handle. Ranger is not pushy, rude, and he has never offered to kick/bite/bolt. This guy has been to the local high school to have the skeleton painted on him multiple times, Farm Supply for a county event, and has been used as a demo horse to over 1200 4th graders. Ranger gets compliments wherever he goes, from pro rodeo ropers to international mustang trainers. I’ve used him to give lessons to complete beginners and have had big trainers ride (and love) him. Although he is a sensitive guy, he’s not reactive and explosive as some mustangs can be, he is very level headed. He does have sidebone and we have x-rays from a few years ago, he just needs front shoes for some support. His feet themselves are great, and he has never had an abscess or a serious injury. Ranger would be best suited for an intermediate to advanced rider, as he has many buttons and needs someone who knows them. We are in no rush with him, and will make sure he goes to the very best home possible! He started me with mustang/horse training, and for the past four years has taught me so much. He is available due to absolutely no fault of his own. Located in San Luis Obispo, CA. He is about 15.1 hands. Vet checks welcome at your expense! PM me for more info

Ranger will be available in the next few months once we can get good pictures and videos! He is a 2015 Titled BLM Mustang Gelding from Stone Cabin, NV. There are not many mustangs that look & are broke like this!! He is great in the arena or on trails, and can be ridden bridleless, ba****ck, Western or English. He is fancy broke and will lope nice circles, spin, stop, change leads, rollback, sidepass, and has lots of body control. He is great through water, over logs, on steep or rough trails, with cattle, etc. He has helped me halter break and start c**ts, is good to rope and dally off of, and is great with flag/tarps/ropes. He’s very respectful on the ground and is good to load, bathe, brush, blanket, clip, tie, and saddle. No buck, bite, kick, bolt, etc. He has a little liberty training and also knows the lay down and rear (rearing on the ground only). He’s placed Res. Champion at the shows he’s been too, and has showed in hand, western, and english (over fences too). He has been to the beach, a couple rodeos and ropings, and he was my wrangler horse at a trail riding buisness. Ranger has been to the local High School multiple times for the Animal Science classes as well as been my demo horse for an Agriculture/FFA presentation to 1200 4th graders. He’s a very honest guy, and loves people! He would be best suited for an intermediate to advanced rider as he has a lot of buttons and loves a job, but he is great for beginners and I have used him to give lessons before. He does have sidebone but it does affect him, he just needs front shoes. I’ve had him for four years and he is very special to me and the family! He will be going to the perfect FOREVER home.

**Available due to no fault of his own & vet checks are welcome at your expense** He is truly one of a kind and will not be cheap - mid 2x,### Non-negotiable.**

Missing those summer nights right about now 🌸🌵

We’ve got lots of changes planned this year for my little business! Everything is finally starting to dry up again after the flooding and horses are being worked again! And another training horse will be at the house this weekend 😉

Ranger will be available for sale this spring, due to no fault of his own. He is an incredibly special horse and there is really no price tag that can account for the work I’ve put into him over the years. Shoot me a message if you’re interested! Starting at 2x,###.

Congratulations Blondie & Saylor!

Blondie has officially been reassigned to the perfect home, and I couldn’t be happier with who she is going to! Blondie is staying local in SLO and her new owner plans to take her on lots of trails, which she will love. While I will really miss this sweet mare around here, I’m so happy she went to her perfect person 😊

ADOPTED/REASSIGNED

A real sized 🦄 is ready to be placed under your Christmas🎄!

Blondie is a 4/5yo BLM mustang mare from Palomino Buttes HMA. She was rounded up last year in October and adopted by me about two months ago, this September. Blondie is available now, but her price will rise quickly once I have started her under saddle. Currently, she:

-Leads
-Ponies
-Lunges w/t/l
-Picks up all four feet
-Loads
-Ties
-Good to catch
-Good for baths, brushing, etc
-Basic groundwork (hindquarter yields, forequarter yields, sidepass to and from you, backing up softly, etc)
-Flexes left and right softly
-Good with the saddle
-Has been sat on, layed over, and stood up in a stirrup and she stood quietly
-Won’t bat an eye at tarps, plastic bags, flags, etc.
-She has been laid down, and was great!
-Started on liberty training and has LOTS of draw
-Very athletic, she could go in any direction
-Sweet and kind disposition
-Very sensitive mentally and physically, does not want to do anything wrong and can be flinch/wary at times
-Very respectful of fencing
-Great with other horses, Blondie is not dominant in a herd setting at all
-Always tries, even if she’s not sure about it
-Absolutely LOVES trails, brushing, and love (of course)😊
-ALWAYS meets you at the gate with a nicker!

Blondie does have stranger danger, and is a very one-person horse. She did buck with the saddle at first, but she has worked out of it. She has built confidence with her saddle and the feeling of a cinch/rope around her belly, and has not bucked in the past few weeks.

Blondie has been ponied on many miles of trails, been around lots of big machinery, does not get hot off of my other (annoying) horses, and is truly one of the sweetest horses I have ever worked with. She is very level headed and non explosive! She will live in a group or alone, and will not get hot or have separation issues from my other horses if she goes out on the trails alone.

She is available to an experienced forever home with an approved BLM Application. She is UNTITLED and needs to be reassigned through the BLM. Adopters must meet all adoption requirements, which are online. She is a wonderful mare, I would love to keep her if I had the time and money. Blondie has the potential to be one of the best mustangs out there, she just needs the right person to bring out the best in her 😉

Official pictures and video are coming soon! Located in San Luis Obispo CA.

Videos are in the comments, please PM me with more questions!

Blondie will be up for reassignment in the next few months!

She is one of the sweetest horses I’ve met, and has no bad intentions. She will need to go to an experienced home, preferably a trainer.

Blondie is a 4yo mare from Palomino Buttes OR. (Age was determined by the BLM, and photos from the wild show she is about 4/5). She was rounded up in 2021 and I picked her up from the holding facilities September 18th 2022. She is very athletic, big b***d and WIDE, and obviously pretty 😆. She could go into any discipline, she jumps super cute and stops real hard!

When she is available she will be able to:

Do basic groundwork
Desensitized to tarps, flags, ropes, etc
Pick up feet
Good with baths/brushing
Stand tied
Load into a trailer
Be saddled without bucking/spooking
Be ponied on many trails and in arenas
Have a few rides put on her, or more

I would keep this mare if I could, but she has always been a project horse for me. She is very sweet, has started to get adjusted to domestic life well. She is sensitive, and would do best with a very experienced soft/gentle trainer. Although she would be fine with a cowboy type home, she needs all the 12yo girl kind of training/love she can get! She just needs her own person and a good forever home 😊 She doesn’t have a bad bone in her body, and I’m sure she will do great things in her future!

I already have quite a few people on my list for her, so please PM me for more info. She will go quick and she won’t be cheap 😉 Rehomimg fee will rise with training, so if she is what you are looking for be sure to contact me before she is officially up for reassignment. She is not in the TIP program, but will have completed their requirements and more 🙂

Ranger was such a good boy this week!

He hadn’t really been worked for quite a while due to how busy I am with school and Blondie, but was still great. I took him on Tuesday to the Agventure for 1200 4th grade students to demo vet med for my High School’s FFA. He did great, loved the kids, was super tolerant with everything I asked him to do, and showed off his tricks. There was a lot going on, and our station was right by the road so there were a lot of cars/trucks/trailers/people making noise and doing things behind him. There was also an old tractor at one of the stations that sounded almost like gunfire when they turned it on, and although he was a little hesitant at first, he settled down. He was a great representation of what mustangs can be!

Then, we drove over to to go on a fun little ride with the trainers there. Ranger got to meet the donkeys and was great for me in the arena and on the trail. I hadn’t ridden him in a while but he was good and reliable! It was great to meet the new trainers there formally, they are really doing well with the horses!

Let’s put horse training into perspective-

A lot of the time, many reputable horse trainers will tell you to “put yourself in their shoes” in order to solve a training problem, confusion, or fear from the horse. I absolutely think that that works, and it definitely can help the handler/trainer understand where they went wrong. But, in order to put yourself in their point of view, it’s important to understand how their brain actually works.

But did you know that a horse’s immediate fight/flight/freeze reaction is not their choice, and rather something their body forces them to do? In any animal’s nervous system, they have the Peripheral Nervous System, which controls the arms, legs, hands etc. Within the PNS there is the Sympathetic Nervous System, which is an involuntary system that controls fight/flight/freeze responses. Because it is involuntary, the horse does not have any control over their reaction and their body responds instinctively. Horses need this to survive in the wild, and will use it to respond to danger. This is also a big factor in mustang training, as literally everything in their body is telling them that a person or something that’s scary is bad and it forces them to respond with fight/flight/freeze.

As trust builds, the horse’s body will not force them to react, as they will begin to understand that they do not need to worry about surviving. For horses like mustangs, who did need to worry about surviving, this is one of the hardest adjustments for them. There are many methods of training, but a common method is controlling their reaction and not letting them leave, and then addressing the fear. This is a favorable method because it can keep the horse and handler safer. actually made a great facebook post about this a few days ago, which is definitely worth a read.

With mostly gentled horses or domestic horses, they have other ways of displaying fear when their nervous system does not take over. Their actions can be more common flight reactions where they do not blow up but want to step away, etc, or other things interpreted as naughtiness.

It is important to understand how your horse works!

The newest edition to the mustang herd! 😄

I won this gorgeous 4yo palomino mare from Palomino Buttes HMA in the past BLM Internet Adoption. Following her training with me she will be up for reassignment through the BLM with a training fee. We should be picking her up at the end of this month or the start of next month at the Burns Holding Facility in Hines, OR. It’ll be quite the drive but hopefully worth it!!

I found some pictures of her in the wild on the Palomino Buttes page, and it looks like she was pregnant at least once. She had a red roan filly (pictured on the last slide). I am so excited to bring her home! Now we just need to come up with a name 😆
