🌟 Every day before camp, our YEP students engage in exciting ice breakers! This morning, we kicked off our day with the ‘Human Knot’! Ice breakers are essential because they:
1️⃣ Foster effective communication
2️⃣ Help everyone learn names quickly
3️⃣ Build a sense of camaraderie and teamwork
Starting the day with these fun challenges ensures our students are energized and ready to tackle the day ahead! 💪🎉 #CityFarmSLO #YouthEmpowerment #farmeducation
What a fun year it’s been at City Farm SLO 🐑🌾🌸
At City Farm SLO we love our tiny spotted heroes - ladybugs! 🐞 these little wonders are natural pest controllers feasting on aphids, mites, mealybugs, and other soft bodied insects that threaten our crops. Embracing ladybugs is our substitute for chemical pesticides, keeping our food clean and healthy. Natures balance is beautiful and we’re proud to nurture it every day. 🌾🌸
Look at all of our summer season babies! Tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs and flowers 🌱
We start these little guys on heating mats and under lights in early January. Once they’re large enough, we up-pot them to 3” pots and move them to our hoop house till they are ready to plant in the ground. These little starts are going to produce a LOT of good food!
