Our hospital is prepared and equipped to service any equine medical need. Whether it be emergency, diagnostic, neonatal, preventative, rehabilitative or reproductive care, we are available to meet your horse’s needs. Our facility includes a full surgical suite, recovery room, intensive care stalls, breeding shed with a reproduction lab, nuclear scintigraphy suite, and a high speed treadmill. The E

quine Center also provides on-site farm call (ambulatory) service, making us uniquely equipped to serve all of your horses’ needs. For basic health care we offer specific vaccine protocols, deworming programs and nutritional advice for the individual horse or large farm. For emergencies, there is always a veterinarian on call for TEC Established Clients; 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 805-541-6367

With fall being right around the corner now is the perfect time to start thinking about parasite control and your deworming protocol. Parasites have specific life cycles, making their activity vary throughout the year. The larvae and eggs of certain parasites are generally more abundant in both the spring and the fall. As a result, it’s important to target parasites during these periods when your horse is most susceptible. Here are some tips and tricks to help with parasite control. Did you know that the prevalence of gastric ulcers has been estimated to be 40% to 60% in adult horses? The only way to know for sure if your horse is affected by gastric ulcers is by doing a gastroscopy, so for the month of May we are offering 25% off in clinic gastroscopy! Many horses with gastric ulcers have very little outward symptoms and tend to suffer in silence. However, there are plenty of subtle signs to look for.

Today is World Veterinary Day! We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to our very own hard working and selfless veterinarians- Dr. Emily Bardo, Dr. Vasil Yordanov and intern veterinarian Dr. Zafar. The World Veterinary Association created World Veterinary Day in 2000 as an annual celebration of the veterinary profession on the last Saturday of April. This year’s theme is “Veterinarians are essential health care workers” which we could not agree more with! Whether they’re foaling out a mare, tubing a colicking horse in the middle of the night, or just doing a routine dental; our horses depend on you and we are so thankful for the sacrifices you guys make to serve our equine community!

TEC to the rescue! 🚑
This morning we received a call for a horse that got himself stuck in a ditch. With some quick thinking, man power and a little banamine Dr. Yordanov and intern veterinarian Dr. Zafar were able to free the gelding. Happy to report that he made it out unscathed and is in good spirits. We are proud to offer 24/7 emergency services to our clients!

For the month of April we would like to bring more awareness to hock health by offering a discount on radiographs! 50% off of images at the clinic and 25% off on farm with a 4 image minimum. The hock is a complex structure that is made up of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and fluids. The hock allows your horse to achieve hind limb propulsion, whether that be accelerating, collecting, jumping or sliding to a stop. Supporting your horses hocks allows them to stay sound, comfortable and happy to work!
