So I have officially retired from my steady work taking care of and cleaning at the place where I was working with birds and cats. Now I will spend my time visiting my grandson, biking, playing pickleball, Bible studying, spending time with my wonderful husband, and crafting.
Also volunteering at this wonderful equestrian center that helps people with developmental issues like autism and Downs syndrome.
We got the minies running today! Very unusual for Jack.
This is what happens when you have a flock of birds of all types. This Lady Guildian finch "says", "kisses". This should not be able to happen. You can hear the CAG say it as plain as day in the background. So amazing!
Finally able to get a shot of the male canary in full song.
One of my charges singing away!
Foster babies. So wonderful!
Best friends. The little one is trying to feed the big one. So cute!
Two of my charges playing. The little one starts it, and the Maine Coon ends it.
Two of my fosters went to an elderly friend. They have made his life a lot less lonely.
Placido the Indian Ringneck
"Placido" enjoying his bath time. Soon we will have a real bird bath for him!
My friend, Dandy
This is one of my charges, Dandy. One of the great things about animal care giving is that I can have more pets to love, but not more expense or worry, or dealing with "issues". You can see the row of bird cages (seven of them, wow) in the next area.
Dandy and me.
Here I am lovin' on Dandy, one if my charges. You can see the line of seven bird cages that I clean the three days of the week I am there, in the background.
Whispering Clyde
This is "Clyde". One way to stop a bird from squawking is to whisper to it. It will imitate you and quiet right down.
One of my favorite charges.
This guy is called a Great Weimar. He is quite a handful!
Kittens!
Thanks for liking my page everyone! I will be adding more info once I figure out how to do it! For now, here is a cute video of our last set of fosters.
