🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - BERLIN & PARIS 🐾🩷🐾

Congratulations to Berlin and Paris! The last of their litter, they found their forever dad and home earlier this year. These absolutely perfect kitties were right at home the second the carrier was opened and they waltzed out and acted like they owned the place. Instantly comfortable and happy, as their fosters were leaving the home delivery, Berlin and Paris were already playing tag throughout the house and rolling around and stretching. So rarely does that happen, but when it does, it makes it easier to leave. Their foster family miss their awesomeness and love, but we are really happy for this sweet, affectionate, and bonded duo to have a dad and home all to themselves.

Most of our kitties we save are from euthanasia at shelters both locally and surrounding areas, as well as found orphaned, sick or abandoned right here in our own community. Our rescuers and our fosters pour every bit of love and care into all of our rescues and we are always so overjoyed when they join their new families. Want to learn more about adoption or fostering? 💗HAPPY NATIONAL PUPPY DAY 🩵

This very special day is observed every year on March 23rd! It celebrates the unconditional love and affection puppies bring to our lives. Puppies are a BIG responsibility so be sure to consider everything involved and ALWAYS adopt from either a rescue or a shelter.

This day also brings awareness to the horrors of puppy mills across the country; we are very fortunate that where we are here in California, mills aren’t as prevalent. What we do see every single day is backyard breeding and the selling of underage and young puppies. We see puppies for sale, often under the guise of “rehoming”, all over social media and even in local parking lots. It’s critical we do not support this type of unlawful and often dangerous breeding by buying puppies from these types of sales tactics. Rescue a puppy instead and save a life!

🐾🩷🐾 HAPPY TAILS - MÖET & KORBEL 🐾🩷🐾

Congrats to Möet and Korbel for finding their forever home! These two girls joined each other in a home with two other senior cats and a cat mom who was so excited to be matched with these beautiful kitties.

Möet was originally trapped by an AARF volunteer (their very first rescue!) and taken to a local shelter for bite wounds. After finding out she had ringworm and would be alone for weeks in their ringworm ward, AARF decided to pull Möet so she could have kitty friends after treatment. Not long after, a potential adopter came into our adoption center and was quite taken with Möet but expressed her desire for an orange female cat as well. We didn’t have one but said we would be on the lookout for her. As luck would have it, later that same week, a post on social media went up about about a friendly orange female kitty that had been TNR’d and was needing help finding a forever home. Contact was made and talks with multiple parties were underway and the stars started to align.

We love it when meant-to-be things happen right in front of our eyes. But those don’t happen by accident - it’s because we take the time to build relationships with our potential adopter to find perfect matches and to do what we feel is best for not only our kitties, but even kitties in the neighborhood that need a chance, too. Great teamwork by everyone to make this happen for these two lovely kittens. We are so happy that two former Gilroy street kittens are now loved house cats 🩷🩷

💙 Introducing the Greek Gods & Goddess Puppies! 💗

Meet Ares (m), Zeus (m), Apollo (m), Iris (f) and Clio (m)—our newest tiny warriors!

At just 8 weeks old, these itty-bitty Chihuahua mix pups weigh between 2 and 3 lbs—small but mighty! They are playful, affectionate, and already showing off their unique personalities.

While these little deities aren’t quite ready for their forever homes, we wanted to give everyone a sneak peek! As they continue to grow, we’ll provide updates on their journey. They will complete all their medical, and be ready for adoption in the coming weeks.

🐾💗🐾 HAPPY TAILS – MIA! 🐾💗🐾

This sweet girl has found her happily-ever-after, and we couldn’t be happier! From the moment Mia met her new mom, Katri, we knew it was meant to be. 💕

Katri lives in a wonderful community where her three neighbors all have dogs, and daily group walks and playtime are part of the routine. After losing her beloved Maddy late last year, she patiently waited for the right dog to come into her life—and Mia stole her heart. 💖

Mia’s journey to this moment wasn’t the easiest, but those days are behind her. Now, she’s the center of attention, adored and cherished just as she deserves.

🐾💗🐾 HAPPY TAILS – NOVA! 🐾💗🐾

This is a story of love, determination, and teamwork—proof that every life is worth fighting for.

Nova and her brother Max were just 8 weeks old when they were found abandoned in a box at a park. They ended up at the shelter, but due to mobility issues, they were labeled “rescue only.” That’s when AARF stepped in!

After multiple vet visits, X-rays, physical therapy, and a consultation with an orthopedic specialist, it was determined that Nova’s back leg was more of a hindrance than a help—amputation would allow her to thrive.

As the puppies continued their journey, a medical emergency in their foster home meant we had to find a new place for them quickly. Thankfully, our amazing partners at Red Dog Ranch Animal Rescue stepped up, giving them the care and love they needed to blossom.

And today—on Tripawd Awareness Day (3/3 Triday!)—we’re thrilled to share the best news: Nova has been adopted!

Her new family recently lost their senior special-needs shepherd. While their beloved girl can never be replaced, Nova has helped heal their hearts in a way only a special pup can. She’s settled in beautifully, soaking up all the love and attention she deserves. Her family will continue to monitor her health and ensure she gets everything she needs.

Huge thanks to Red Dog Ranch for making sure Nova found her perfect forever home.

🐾 RESCUED 🐾

💗 Meet POPPY 💗

We are so grateful we could keep this sweet girl out of the shelter. Poppy was found on a property known as a frequent dumping ground—we’ve rescued three dogs from the same location. Heartbreaking, but sadly, it happens far too often.

Thankfully, Poppy was safely secured by one of our volunteers, registered at the shelter, and placed with one of our foster families for her stray hold. As expected, no one came looking for her, and she officially became an AARF pup! 🐶💖

Poppy is about 6 months old, a Lab mix, and already a healthy 51 lbs. She’s slowly coming out of her shell, and with the guidance of the other dogs in her foster home, her confidence is growing each day. She’s making great progress with potty training and struts proudly as the leader of the pack on her daily walks. 🐕✨ Her foster mom has been working on basic training, and this smart girl is soaking it all up—she’s happy, affectionate, and an all-around gem!

Poppy will thrive in an active home, ideally with another dog to keep her company and share in the fun. At just 25 pounds, Bindi is a fun sized cattle dog. -She might be tiny but her heart is big! Three years young, this little lady is resilient. Born mostly blind and deaf with some neurological deficiencies, Bindi is potty and piddle pad trained and comes to claps.👏🏻👏🏻 She’s a special needs pup, looking for a special home and we’re hoping that could be you, or someone you know. Adorable Anise has silky, short black & white fur, and long whiskers 😻As a young kitten, she’s still very much in a wrestle-centric mindset but will settle next to you for a nap.
