🐱 ADOPTABLE KITTIES!! 🐱

At the AARF Adoption Playroom, you can interact and play with our kitties and see if there’s a perfect match for you. No appointments necessary and there are no entrance fees to visit.

🗓️ When: This Saturday, 2/1

We have darling kittens, social teens and some lovely young adult cats, all looking for their forever homes!

It is advised that you complete and submit an adoption application as soon as possible. We do not do on-the-spot adoptions since a pre-approved application is required.

🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - STEVE & MARTIN 🐾🩵🐾

Right before Thanksgiving, brothers Steve and Martin found their forever family! These boys are very special to several AARF volunteers, as they had lots of fosters in their rescue journey with AARF - from tiny bottle babies, to weaned littles, then as teenagers. After losing their third amigo brother Chevy this past summer, we were determined to not ever break these bonded brothers up and we held out for the absolute PERFECT home - and we found it! This adoption story is full of signs and invisible strings, too many to list, but this placement is the epitome of healing hearts, fresh starts - for both the kitties and their new humans. We are so happy for Steve, Martin, and their wonderful new family and can’t wait for all the happy updates!

Most of our kitties we save are from euthanasia at shelters both locally and surrounding areas, as well as found orphaned, sick or abandoned right here in our own community. Our rescuers and our fosters pour every bit of love and care into all of our rescues and we are always so overjoyed when they join their new families. Want to learn more about adoption or fostering? 🌟 Shout-Out to Clutternut Professional Organizing! 🌟

We want to extend a HUGE thank you and the BIGGEST shout-out to our amazing friends at Clutternut Professional Organizing!

As a busy rescue, AARF is constantly juggling priorities. Unfortunately, organizing our donations and deliveries often falls to the bottom of the list. That’s where the incredible Anna and Anita from Clutternut stepped in to save the day!

They generously volunteered three full days of their time to transform one of our storage areas. With patience and care, they:
✔️ Sorted all items by type and size.
✔️ Meticulously organized and stored everything.
✔️ Evaluated every item to decide whether it should be saved, donated to local shelters, or discarded.

Thanks to their thoughtful approach, items like toys, collars, leashes, beds, and other supplies were sent to shelters where they’re desperately needed. Their work not only cleared our space but also extended our mission to help more animals in need!

And here’s the best part: everything they did was a donation to AARF. Anna and Anita are true champions of our community, and their support means the world to us.

Thank you for your good thoughts, Nova has been recovering well from her amputation last week! And is looking rather spiffy in her surgery suit 💗Even in the cone of shame she’s absolutely adorable!

We are incredibly thankful for the amazing partnership with Red Dog Ranch Animal Rescue. They are so committed to providing Nova and her brother Max with the best care possible as we work to find them their forever homes. These two deserve nothing less than love-filled, amazing lives!

🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - PIGGY 🐾🩵🐾

In November it was happy tails to our fun loving Piggy. This sweet boy was rescued at three weeks old along with his recently adopted sister Peg. Piggy was a crowd favorite at our adoption playroom and had a lot of energy and s***k and needed a friend who could keep up with him. He has joined a home with another young kitty just like him, and two pug pups, and is having a blast in his new life! Purr-fect fit!

Most of our kitties we save are from euthanasia at shelters both locally and surrounding areas, as well as found orphaned, sick or abandoned right here in our own community. Our rescuers and our fosters pour every bit of love and care into all of our rescues and we are always so overjoyed when they join their new families.

🧁 BAKERS WANTED! 🍪

AARF will be having a Valentine’s Day event on Saturday 2/8 at our adoption center in Morgan Hill. We will also have 💝 Sweet Treats 💝 tables of baked goods and other yummies available to buy to raise funds for our foster program.

If you would like to donate homemade baked goods, such as cookies, brownies, breads, cakes, candy, bars, cupcakes, pies, and other specialty items, please let us know. The prettier, and more festive themed, the better! If any of our local bakeries would like to donate too, we would love that! 🩷

You can wrap in a clear wrapper, box, or baggie or even just a wrapped platter/plate as we will also have to-go baggies. Items will need to be dropped off at AARF the day prior (Fri 2/7). We don’t have refrigeration so no whipped cream or perishable items please.

🩵 FOSTER NEEDED 🩵

Rolex and Flash are a bonded pair of besties who are in need of a new foster home as their current foster is moving out of the area. Both boys are initially shy but so sweet and just the best of friends, as they do everything together and cannot be separated. They are low maintenance, easy going guys 😻

The ideal foster home for them would be a quiet, calm home without a lot of activity or young kids. A cat-friendly dog would be okay.

Please let us know asap if you can foster, as we are looking to move them very soon. Our kitty fosters are currently maxed out and these boys have nowhere to go. AARF supplies everything, you supply the love.

Today, our precious girl Nova is undergoing surgery to have her back leg amputated. While this may sound daunting, it’s truly a step towards giving her a better, pain-free life. This procedure will allow Nova to move around more freely with newfound comfort.

🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - MAX & PEG 🐾🩷🐾

Max and Peg, the sweetest story 🩵🩷 Max came to AARF at just nine weeks old with severe wet FIP and was one of his foster’s favorite fosters ever - and that’s saying a lot! FIP, a once fatal condition, did not win though because with treatment, Max grew to be 100% healthy and cured! Peg was rescued 7 months ago from a local shelter because of a congenital deformity. Missing her foot and part of her leg, she needed a full amputation to the hip, to give her total mobility and stability. She recovered amazingly and was a joy to her foster family.

On Max’s adoption day, his new family saw Peg and fell in love with her too. After leaving our playroom, they couldn’t stop thinking about her and how she seemed to want to come along with them. That night they texted us asking if they could adopt her also! Little did they know that this was an ideal situation, because Max and Peg already loved each other so much being raised together in their foster home! Max came along to Peg’s adoption so he could be in the picture too - and get some more kisses from his foster mom. When they saw each other, they immediately started rubbing on each other and did happy chirps. They joined two big brother kitties and are loving their new home and wonderful family!

🐾💗🐾 HAPPY TAILS - ATHENA 🐾💗🐾

Athena’s journey was nothing short of serendipitous. Lost and alone, she wandered to just the right place—the home of one of our co-founders. Despite door-to-door searches and notifying all local agencies, no one came forward to claim her. That’s when Athena became an AARF pup!

Now named NOVA, this sweet girl has been thriving in her new home for a little over a month. She’s loving all the attention from her amazing new family and has formed a special bond with her new best friend, Louie.

Nova celebrated her first Christmas surrounded by love. She was spoiled with lots of gifts; new toys, cozy sweaters, and treats, but the greatest gift of all was a forever home. She was truly home for the holidays 🎄

Nova and Louie are having the best time! Nova is getting to experience lots of new adventures, including long coastal walks. A huge thank you to the Sarmiento family for welcoming this precious girl into their hearts and home.

🐾🛟 SURVIVAL STORIES - ARIA & POESY 🛟🐾

Meet our first kitten intake of 2025! These tiny girls, ARIA & POESY were saved from a local shelter where they were sick and needed a lifeline. POESY is a darling tabby kitten that was out of time on Christmas Eve with suspected calicivirus. After being cared for by our kitty vet, she is doing very well and responding well to treatment. Turns out she did not have a virus but instead a treatable upper respiratory infection. Underweight and lonely though, she cried for days and so we sought out another single about her size, which isn’t all that easy in January. When another kitten popped up for rescue on New Year’s Eve with a similar fate, we decided it was a sign and so we saved her too. Now the girls are together and are both doing very well. Named after music and poetry, please welcome Aria and Poesy! They have a bit of time to grow big enough for adoption, but should be ready sometime next month.

🐾🩷🐾 HAPPY TAILS - PENELOPE 🐾🩷🐾

Congratulations to darling Penelope who joined her forever family back in November. Penny and her brothers came to us as very sickly tiny kittens 18 months ago. We poured all our care into helping them get well and thrive and the whole litter has been such a joy. Penelope was a part of AARF for a long time and was adored by her foster mom. She joined big brother Louis in her new home and has settled in and is doing wonderfully.

MAX and NOVA update with Red Dog Ranch Animal Rescue

Nova and Max hope everyone is staying safe and having a good weekend! Nova is always up for a model pose while Max tends to be too busy hugging or playing 🤣. They have settled in so nicely, love other pups, cats and kiddos! They have really blended in nicely and are a joy to have 🥰 We are looking forward to helping Nova and Max on their journey to be the best they can be and to find forever! 🐾 RESCUED 🐾

💗 Meet MOCHI & BOBA 🩵

We were so glad to step in when our local shelter asked us to help this sweet mama and her baby. Thanks to a wonderful foster home opening up, we were able to say yes! A loud, stressful shelter is no place for a nursing mother and her newborn – it can be overwhelming and even dangerous for a tiny baby like Boba.

Mochi is a small poodle mix and weighs around 10 lbs. We are not quite sure of her age as the vet couldn’t confirm for us; maybe around 5 years old! She is truly an amazing mom. She’s attentive, loving, and always making sure little Boba is cared for. But when she’s not busy being the perfect mom, Mochi is a cuddle queen! She loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for some much-deserved affection.

And then there’s Boba – what a little fluff ball! 🐾 He’s pure cuteness and growing into his playful personality. At just 6 weeks old, he’s beginning to wean and explore the world, tumbling around all over the place.

Mochi and Boba aren’t quite ready for adoption yet. They still need to complete their medical care, and we anticipate they’ll be ready for meet-and-greets in about 6 weeks. However, we’re accepting applications now for those who would like to be considered for either of these two darlings.
