‼️ATTENTION ALL‼️
Thanksgiving is a week away from today and we have a mission! 🫡

We would love it if ALL of our dogs were in a foster home by Thanksgiving so they do not have to spend it alone at the shelter. 🥺

While we do still have staff on site on the days we will be closed (11/28 & 11/29), our amazing dogs DESERVE to feel the warmth and coziness of a home for the holidays. 🫶🏻

We provide all supplies needed, crate, food, bowls, blankets, etc. 🦴

Today, Officers Ibanez, Stoffers, and Espino went above and beyond during a loose cattle call, ensuring both the safety of the animals and our community.

We're so lucky to have such hardworking professionals on the job! Thanks to you, these cows are back safe in their own pasture tonight.

🐇✨ Which Bunny is Your Favorite? We Can’t Decide! ✨🐇

Our shelter is hopping with cuteness, thanks to 16 incredible rabbits who recently had their moment in the spotlight! These adorable bunnies, many of whom were found near Stevens Canyon Rd in late October, had a photoshoot with the incredibly talented Maurice, and their personalities absolutely shine in these stunning photos.

A Tail of A Turtle!

Ok, ok, ok….not a real turtle but an adorable kitty named Turtle!

Turtle came to us as a transfer, she was originally found in a County pocket of San Jose. Turtle arrived at our center very ill and in sad condition. She was suspected to be suffering from FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) and ringworm. Although the symptoms and lab-work weren’t a clear diagnosis, although there was still this looming suspicion she was truly suffering from FIP.

We immediately reached out to one of our rescue partners- Jenifer Ryan Lepow of All Animal Rescue & Friends. As always Jenifer was all in and wanted to help. She said YES! and we couldn’t be more grateful! Fast forward to now, Turtle is thriving and responding to the LOVE and unwavering support from AARF. The road to recovery for FIP cats is rather long and requires dedication and can be costly. Not so long ago FIP was a fatal outcome for cats, but now there is hope, there are treatments available to help!

The relationships between shelters and rescues are vital and lives depend on it. We are so very grateful to our rescue partners. Especially our friends Jenifer Ryan Lepow, Gwen Dorcich and their team of volunteers at All Animal Rescue & Friends.

If you have ever visited our shelter, you might have been greeted by "BOB" our beloved shelter cat.
Bob permanently lives here due to chronic health issues.
Bob is free to roam our shelter & barn but is brought indoors every night. We have not seen him in a few days and fear the worst might have happened! His collar, tags, and microchip are all up to date.

We have several to choose from and some that are semi friendly that prefer the freedom of the outdoors.

This sweet girl is a 2-year-old bundle of joy who weighs about 45 pounds and is full of playful energy.

We believe she could be a Portuguese Podengo, and her curiosity and fun-loving personality make her the perfect companion! If you’re looking for a new best friend, come meet Honey during our open hours: Monday-Friday from 12-6 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 12-5 PM.

Meet Lexi, a sweet 2-year-old girl with a big heart and an ongoing medical mystery. Lexi came to us after her owner passed away, and we’re working to understand her unique condition. She has a head tilt, sometimes bumps into things, and occasionally spins, but none of it stops her from enjoying a gentle pet and some love! Help us spread the word about Lexi as we work to find answers and the perfect home where she can thrive.

The Animal Services staff cares for and homes approximately 4,000 dogs, cats, horses, and livestock annually. We accept stray animals of all conditions and are proud of our “no-kill” live release rate of 94.3% in 2018, one of the highest in California for open intake shelters. Our Animal Services Center is also the only shelter facility in the South Bay that provides services for livestock. Thousands of Santa Clara County residents have added to their families by adopting at the shelter.
