Aspen is a 1 1/2 to 2 yr old Sammy boy found as a stray on the street. A good grooming is his next stop since he encountered a skunk. Stay tuned!
2024 SFSR picnic

It's almost time for a whiteout! 🤍☁️ This Saturday, Oct 5, is our Annual Family Reunion and Fundraising Picnic at Oak Hill Park in Danville! It's always a great time for doggies and friends. Help us celebrate 50 YEARS of helping Samoyeds and their families!
Official start is 10:00, but you can come a little earlier if you wish to beat the heat.
We will be having our Play Area with two kiddie pools filled with ICE!
A Canicross talk/demo and equipment try for your dogs and people between 10-10:30, Grooming demo at 10:30, and you can get a nail trim for a donation, Silent Auction and Raffle (Lots of good stuff). SFSR stuff available also!
The first 30 doggies to arrive will receive a goodie-bag filled with fun items and treats!
11:30 is the group photo with all doggies!
Then its BBQ time at 12:00! SFSR provides the burgers, links and condiments, you bring a potluck side dish (salad, fruit, veggie, munchies). We will have bottled water, Ice tea available throughout the day. And of course our famous Sammy Cupcakes for dessert! Yumm!!
If you have a shade pop-up, bring it with you and your chairs. After all, it’s an outdoor picnic! Lots of room to spread out. The park has lots of trees for shade too! With the forecasted heat, we will end a little earlier than at our previous picnics, so come early!
Admission is 1 bag of ICE! 🙂

Lodi update.....Thank you all for your prayers. They worked.
All his x-rays came back normal, exam was good. He does have some irritation on his back legs where the mats were most severe shaved out. He is a tough cookie. It took two sedation shots to get him down in order to do the x-rays. But I'm glad we did them. As you can see he refuses to lay down. Loves to cuddle as long as his feet are on the ground. He will fall asleep standing up. We were concerned that a possible hematoma was forming or that there was other issues, but the xrays and all the tests are good. He's just going through normal decompression and transition as he has been trough a lot this past week. He is learning what stairs are and loves to be inside with his people. You are safe now big boy! Time to relax.
